Not all relationships last forever. Some have to go through trials to get back on track. And some do not get back together, nor see each other, ever again.

Juvia had started to teach dancing and pole classes after some time. They all could agree that she was talented in what she did , no matter how much they ended up talking down on her. Most of the university students attended her sessions, appreciating and envisioning dancing in a new light thanks to her. Natsu had even started to become more insecure about their relationship, many people attempting their chances with her. But Juvia always reminded him that she wanted him and no one else.

She had made some friends through the process but only from neighboring schools. Juvia felt her luck and happiness continue to grow as they moved on. But of course life had its ups and downs that made her feel like the world was falling apart.

A few years into their relationship and they had finally hit a bump. Neither of them knew where it went wrong but a mutual hatred between the two adults began to form and they started to see other people. Juvia remembered that day like it was that day. Natsu comes home one day and openly complains knowing he was right, Juvia also being right and completely leaving him. All the countless amounts of tears that were spilled by the two of them.

Natsu was fucking pissed. He didn't want to believe it. He felt like Gray was clouding his better judgment with his hatred towards Juvia but he had proof this time, something that destroyed him from the inside out. Juvia was sneaky but he never knew she could be this transparent to not get caught. But Natsu never wanted to question her, worried about being a pushover and overbearing but for once, he felt lured and betrayed.

Driving home while angry was not a good thing but he made it back safe and just in time. Her eyes shined brightly and were filled with so much love when she saw him. Yet the evidence in his phone was calling to him. He wanted answers.

"Youre seeing other men, Juvia?... You don't have to lie to me, I have pictures if you're too much of a fucking liar to believe it. Why would you lie to me? And to claim you were busy with your family on the days where I needed you here with me..." Natsu was distressed and he couldn't wait for an answer. However Juvia frowned, hurt and distrust appeared within her pale face. She knew several people who would try and ruin their relationship and she wasn't shocked that it had worked this time.

"You believed them this time. After all the lies they spewed to you and yet you believe them because of mere pictures that they have no context behind. What lie did they come up with this time, huh? Oh, Juvia privately meeting people? Juvia's cheating on you? You really don't trust me then if you automatically assumed that was the issue..." Juvia hisses at him, her eyes filling with tears. "Those people are too uncomfortable to sign up for classes because of all the things said about it. I offered a personal class to a specific group like them. It seems like you're letting them get to you."

Natsu hated seeing her tremble but so was he. "But you could have told me that... Why didn't you tell me that? We wouldn't-." He paused, shutting his mouth abruptly.

"We wouldn't what, Natsu?!" She cries out, glaring at him in anger. "What? We wouldn't be in this situation if I would have told you? We would have still because you don't trust me anymore. When in reality, I've never done anything to betray you Natsu. And if you needed me, I would have stayed for you! I love you and I would always love you and would have done anything for you. But you can't even reciprocate the feelings I have. There is no love without trust."

"I don't think we should see each other anymore."

She left the apartment, her sobs ringing in his ears. The guilt, the regret, the agony. It started to fuel him yet bring him down. Natsu felt the hot liquid prickling in his eyes. He angrily fell to his knees, wiping his reddening eyes. He had thought he was right. He had fucked up this time. Natsu had lost a part of him he wouldn't be able to replace. All those years of friendship since high school, their intimacy starting in college... it had all gone down the drain. Juvia would never find anyone like him and he would never find anyone like her.

Juvia had collected her stuff and was gone. Although he knew her schedule, he never saw her around campus anymore. She was there but gracefully avoiding him... as she should. Natsu wasn't angry, he couldn't be. It was his fault after all. Natsu ignored Gray for the remainder of his year as the summer came.

He just wanted to see Juvia one more time before they would go their separate ways for good. Graduation was here and the only place he could find her was in the school's dance studio.

Natsu leaned against the wall next to the door as he patiently, anxiously waited for her to come out. The night was crisp and cold considering it was summer now. Natsu just knew Juvia loved the weather at the moment. His heart throbbed just being reminded of all her interest and things she was intrigued by.

If he loves her, why didn't he trust her then? But he did.

"Natsu? What are you doing here?" Her eyes were wide. Juvia's voice was still as soft and delicate when she spoke to him. Her eyes flickered between love and anger. Natsu felt overwhelmed and regretful all over again.

"I-I'm sorry... It's been a while since I last saw you. I'm just, really feeling regretful right now. I wanted to see you, that's all. And talk..." Natsu looked at her directly in the front eyes, an apologetic smile appearing. Juvia looked away from him with her mouth in a thin line. "Look, if you're looking to get back together or something, I'm sorry but I'm too busy to be interested in anyone right now." She lied.

"You aren't too busy to be interested in me... Look, I know I was wrong and that I shouldn't have done what I did or said what I said. I know making excuses is not exactly what you would want to hear but I won't. It's my fault I'm so bitter and haven't gotten over you but I just can't Juvia. You said there was no love without trust but I still love you and will keep loving you even if you aren't mine. Our relationship meant everything to both of us and I'm so sorry I made you feel like that. I wish I could have apologized but you avoided me like a saint." Fuck he was so bad at this.

"I totally understand if you don't even want to be close to me anymore. I should have believed you as a friend because that's what you were to me. My best friend that I wrongfully accused of shit." Natsu shook, stuttering out as he looked up at the moon and the stars.

"Mhm." Juvia sighed airily with a smile, her eyes wandering to the city lights and fast cars that went by. It never failed to bewilder her that she chose this life. It was almost as if she was living in a movie, not sure what the climax or the ending would be, but surely living a dream in reality. She wasn't so sure how she felt about Natsu being a part of it. It wasn't anything bad and had nothing to do with Natsu himself, however, if this was a dream, why was Natsu in it?

Juvia caresses his cheek with such gentleness.

"Maybe because Natsu-kun is respectful. He knows our boundaries and what should and shouldn't be said. Also because Juvia was always good at acting like she never felt comfortable with compliments from the ones she loves. You're so sweet Natsu, Juvia can't help but feel the same towards you..." She caresses his cheek with gentleness. Juvia wasn't oblivious to the way Natsu felt. She was always scared about the direction their relationship would take. She loved him more than anything but she had her insecurities and doubts that maybe... Natsu deserved better.

"I told you Natsu-kun, I would always love you. Truthfully, I'm still upset but I know you. You only believed him because of how long he knew us both. I know you had your reasoning but I know how much you love me. I'm sorry for making you feel like this too... We both messed up so don't put the blame too much on yourself." Juvia smiles, leaning up to press a kiss onto his lips. Natsu immediately attached his hands to her face as he pulled their bodies closer. They need this moment, a moment of love and joy, calmness and longevity. Being in the safety of each other's arms, their love for each other never waning like the moon.
