" Purple's one of my favorite colors, but this is too much," I start playing with the sleeves of the graduation thing.
I didn't bother to call it what it was. I just graduated, and all I could think was that high school was over, living with my parents, over. A new life began just down the road. My new life. I was sad to let a huge part of my life go, but in a way, it won't leave. I'll still be the one girl in the corner table at lunch, one of the weird, crazy, cool-acting, people.
" This is gonna be the best day of my life," My best friend, Callie, sings as she comes up the bleachers to me and our other best friend, Harlee.
" It already is!" I laugh.
She laughs, too, " I know! So, ready to face the world?"
I playfully hide behind Harlee, laughing, " never!"
" Hey! Amber!" Trevor yells, coming towards us.
This is the guy that has knocked my stuff off my desk since seventh grade, everybody! Now let's clap for him!
" What?" I ask, " and no, you can not knock my drink and stuff off the bench."
" I'm not here for that, well, that was one part, " he says.
" Goo-"
" Oops."
Before I can finish my sentence, Trevor's knocked my bag to a lower part of the bleachers.
" Hey!" I complain as Callie hits him upside the head.
I go and get my bag, laughing as I watch Isaiah, Callie's boyfriend, scare the shit out of her.
" Hey," a deep voice says from behind me.
I turn around, smiling as I see my boyfriend, Evan.
" Hey," I smile at him, laughing as his curls are almost practically everywhere with the wind.
" Like your dress," he says, nodding.
Under the gown, I had on a floral skater dress with black flats.
" Thanks, you've seen this before, though," I mess up his curls even more.
" Hey!" He tries swatting my hands away.
" Hey! Lovebirds! Get back up here!" Callie yells to us.
I pull my bag on and laugh as me and Evan struggle as we make our way up the bleachers, by the seating part.
" So, who's going where?" Isaiah asks.
" I don't know," Harlee says.
" Either staying here or Montana," Trevor says.
" Paris," Callie says.
" I'm coming with her," Isaiah says.
" How about you two?" Trevor turns to me.
" London, or at least somewhere in England," I sit down, taking a sip from my cup.
" Same," Evan laughs as I chew on the rim of my paper cup.
" A toast?" Trevor suggests.
Callie pulls me up.
" A toast," Evan raises his cup first and we all follow, " a toast to new beginnings."
We all cheer and yell, downing our drinks.
