Goodbye

I fumble with the silver chain around my neck as I sit on the bench by the end of my street. I was waiting for a taxi to take me to the airport. It was about 3:00am, so that meant barely anyone up in my neighborhood.

No hugs, no kisses, no "I love you"s, no "I'll miss you"s, no goodbyes. Period.

I could just disappear without a trace. Leave my old life with a new one.

A suitcase by my feet was really the only thing I needed. $3,000 was in my front pocket. A new phone and charger, some clothes, a coat, a pair of boots, my laptop, laptop charger, iPod, toiletries, and a photo of my family were all tightly packed into the suitcase.

A taxi pulls up next to me and I stand, opening the back car door. I get in and look out the window as I tell the guy where to go.

" Goodbye," I whisper as my old life starts to blur as the car starts to go faster, heading for the highway.

Hi, hope you liked it! This is my first one so don't judge me, please.
