you and I will always be unfinished business🪐
"I'm perfectly fine" you thought to yourself as you closed your eyes and inhaled deeply the sweet smell around you.
you were feeling as if you were in heaven.
the warm, cozy duvet was hugging tightly around your body. but that smell... that strange sweet smell.
you opened your eyes and turned to the side which was supposed to be occupied by another person, but he wasn't there.
you looked around. clothes shattered all over the floor, a couple of pillows were kicked out of the bed and a package of a condom next to the nightstand.
you chuckled. so typical.
the curiosity of knowing where the smell was coming from got the best of you so you forced yourself out of the bed and put some panties on. no bra, just a shirt you collected from the floor which wasn't even yours but hung low on your body like a dress.
you opened the door of the bedroom and slowly walked down the wooden stairs with your naked feet.
you peeked into the kitchen and saw the man you've been looking for pouring freshly squeezed oranges into two cups.
Taehyung swirled and put the cups on the little table in the kitchen still not noticing you leaning against the doorframe.
<looks delicious>
you said referring to the pancakes as you got closer to him from behind. the poor boy flinched and spilled a little orange juice on his shirt
<Jesus... you scared me>
he mumbled and turned towards you with a pout. you couldn't hold back a peal of laughter at the situation
<that's just a couple of drops>
you passed him a tissue from the counter and Taehyung started wiping his shirt. It wasn't much and the glass was still completely full.
<a couple of drops and a huge heart attack>
he answered and threw the tissue away, not before flashing you a death glare. you laughed again
<my lady>
Taehyung got the chair from the table and pushed it back for you to sit. You did so and he pushed the chair with you on it back closer to the table just to go and sit in front of you immediately after
it was so cozy and calm that you didn't want it to end. never.
but you knew it was your last day in paradise. tomorrow you would go back to your usual busy city life and pretend you didn't know each other.
it worked like that between the two of you. while staying on vacation in this small town in the mountains in a corner of Canada you were the favorite couple of every local grandma.
but back in New York City it was all different. there were no sweet looks full of love, no nights spent cuddling, no cozy mornings. no love. In New York you were just two people working at the same company who talked only for strictly business matters.
he was the frontman of a cruise company and you were one of the shareholders and the executive director.
it worked that way and you were both fine with it. you didn't know how you got till this point you just knew it just happened and there was no point in changing it.
both of your families used to come to this town every year for summer vacations and sometimes for a couple of weeks to ski in the winter.
that's how the two of you met. you always played together and were best friends. But when you went back to New York, since Taehyung was two years older than you, you pretended you didn't know each other at school.
your father was a jeweler and had a huge chain of jewelry shops but when Taehyung's father once came asking him for help because his cruise company was going through heavy economic problems, your father didn't hesitate to help an old friend.
that's how you became a shareholder of Taehyung's company.
the two of you were now bounded to work together and meet every day. However you still kept up the habit of ignoring your friendship.
<I didn't find any strawberries but here you go some bananas and blueberries>
the boy gave you a sweet smile as he pushed to you two bowls, one full of sliced bananas and the other with washed blueberries.
He knew your favorite combo for your pancakes was strawberries and honey so he wanted to make up for the lack of the red fruit by substituting it with two others.
<when did you find the time to go buy them?>
you asked surprised and he shrugged his shoulders
<I didn't. I asked for home delivery from the shop around the corner>
you playfully rolled your eyes.
predictable.
the delicate prince would never go on his own down the road first thing in the morning just to buy some fruits.
he gave you an innocent smile after seeing your expression.
his phone suddenly rang interrupting your little moment. you sighed
<I'm sorry>
he excused himself and went to the living room to get the call.
it was your last day in that town and you didn't want it to get ruined by business so you started eating internally praying it was nothing that would get him back to New York earlier than expected
Taehyung came back not even 5 minutes later and got back to his breakfast
<who was it?>
you asked looking at him, the boy just shrugged his shoulders
<nothing special, the race from Argentina a little>
you frowned
since when did they inform the CEO of the company about a race being late?
it was not a duty of his and you knew it very well.
he had people to get a hold of that. however, you didn't want to ruin the mood so you just hummed and kept eating.
the day went by faster than you wanted it to. you spent it on movies and cuddles as none of you wanted to go out and do whatever.
as the sun started setting you put your last luggage in the back of your car and turned to Taehyung
<see you tomorrow>
you said and wrapped your arms around his neck. the boy leaned closer and placed a sweet kiss on your lips.
