We built our house the summer of 04. The people came and helped us and my mom and this other lady were talking, her name was Melissa. She had two daughters at the time. One of the girls was Elna she was two. Then there was Breanna she was 11, then my mom stared her new job so me and my sister started to get babysat by Breanna. She was the coolest person to hang out with and just if you needed someone to talk to she was there for you. We used to walk around the block every day and just talk for hours on end. Me and her used to talk about family problems or how our day was and the good thing was if you told her something she would keep it to herself.
Breanna was eleven when she found out she had acute lymphocytic leukemia a blood cancer. Malignant cells had spilled from Breanna's bone marrow into her bloodstream. She was a lucky one she was called a "rapid responder." Just two weeks into her chemotherapy, the leukemia cells had went from 70 percent of her bone marrow cells to 3 percent, and by the fourth week, no cancerous cells could be found. I was to little to remember but she got a letter in the mail from the hospital. It said Breanna Renee Atwell has fought a long and hard battle to beat acute lymphocytic leukemia. She was so happy that she couldn't standstill.
Nine years latter. I went to Wal-Mart and I saw breanna, she told me "I work here now."
I said "awesome. Do you like it?"
She told me how she think she found the boy of her dreams and she thinks he's the one. I was so happy for her and I could tell she was even more happy. Now it was two days after Valentine's day I got home from my Papa's house. My mom sat me down and told me that Breanna got in an head-on accident when she was taking her boyfriend home after there date it was 1:32am and a drunk driver came from the other way and ran right into them. Breanna was 20, her boyfriend was 22, the other driver was 20. She was not wearing her seatbelt and either was her boyfriend. She died right then the guy in the other car lived and breannas boyfriend. Some times I think why her? Why not the drunk driver? If I could go back in time and tell her to stay home I would.
She didn't tell a lot of people that she had a dream of what was going to happen, two weeks before it did, her cousin and her mom had the same dreams. But she didn't think much of it. I wish she stayed home and not have gone. I know it wasn't her time but someone made it be and I wish I could change that.
She was a survivor and no one could bring her down, she was so happy all the time. I wish the drunk diver knows that he killed a cancer survivor and I want him to deal the pain I'm in right now. For him to deal not just the mental pain but the physical pain as well.
This is the story that end on a bad feeling, but you need to know if your out there reading this and you are not going though this or you have, or you are, just know you are not alone and there are other people out there that know how you feel and what you are going through.
