[ i. r - first job ]

---

"You're no help, you know." The girl muttered as she buttoned up her black shirt, the one she had bought earlier that day when she went to the store with her mother. Rin sat on her bed, watching her through the mirror while he fiddled with the buttons of her skirt.

"What do you want me to do? Dress you?" Rin asked with a scoff, shielding himself from her slap that came down on him rather fiercely. "Geez."

"I'm freaking out about work and you're not helping." She whined, throwing herself on top of him on the bed. She continued to whine and complain about him making her more nervous than she should have been, to which he simply wrapped his arms around her and squeezed her body.

He sighed with mock annoyance, "It'll be fine. You're not going to die."

"You say that because you're amazing at everything." She sniffled, clutching onto him as if he was going to disappear from under her.

Rin shook his head, burying his face in the crook of her neck. The scent of her new shirt mixed with her lingering perfume was rather pleasant to his senses that were swarmed with the aroma. "I'm not a good boyfriend."

"Shut up. You're the greatest boyfriend though."

"Yeah? But I don't know how to make you feel better. I don't know how to comfort you or express anything to you without getting defensive. You don't have to look too hard to notice that I'm shit at this." Rin admitted quietly, purposely hiding his face to avoid seeing the expression on her face as he confessed to his feelings for the first time in a while.

Other than explaining his love for her a while back in the most vague manner ever, he had never really done this before. He was terrible at this kind of stuff, especially since he was constantly trying to pretend that he didn't care about anything and everything due to his brother's horrible behavior in the past few years. Now that he had a girlfriend, he was trying to change the part of him that was so closed off.

"And I don't give a shit." The words rolled off her tongue in a brave manner that almost made Rin want to snap her in half for disregarding the sweet words he had said. Before he could even get angry, she continued on after pushing herself upwards to see his face. "You kiss me when I'm crying and hold me so tight that I instantly forget why I'm even upset in the first place. You say some mean shit but never fail to make me feel better when I need it. How can I ever say you're bad at anything if you're doing everything as best as you can? It doesn't matter how good you are because I know just how much you like me."

Rin's expression remained motionless for a second. He struggled to comprehend how he had landed himself an understanding and loving girlfriend who never forced him to be anything other than himself. The real Rin that he had hidden for so long was the only thing she desired from him in this relationship. She just wanted him.

Pulling her down slowly, he pressed his lips against hers with such passion that it almost made her heart burst. Initiation on his part was rare, so the feeling of this kiss was way more intense than usual. It made the butterflies in her stomach swirl and explode into a fiery heat all along her body.

"I love you."

The girl instantly wailed, tackling him in a hug and kissing him all over his face. "I love you too. I'll work super hard tomorrow at work to make you proud. When I have enough money, let's go on a date together."

Sighing, Rin wrapped his arm around her waist and held her close. "Yeah."
