"Is she gonna be okay?" Ember asked, curled up against the crate while looking at Glory, who was sitting unconscious against the wall at the opposite end of the cart.

"She's exhausted. I've never seen her run as hard as that before, I'm just glad you both made it in time." Astro said as she sat next to him with a smile. A patch of orange light burst through the cracked door and shone over Ember and Astro's faces.

"Dawn's here." Astro grinned. "Urchin, can you open the door a little please?"

Urchin rolled her eyes. "Lazy asses." She walked over and shoved the door open, revealing a blindingly beautiful sunrise.

"I've missed this." Ember said sleepily.

"How's your leg?" She asked.

Ember shrugged. "I'll be fine, I've been through worst." His ankle had just been wrapped in a string of bandages and a little blood showed on the bottom of his foot.

"I'm afraid you're going to have a limp for awhile now, you sure you're going to be okay?" Astro asked again. Ember nodded slowly.

"I don't know what will happen to us, but I know after the battle, we'll all survive." Ember said confidently despite the exhaustion.

"Stop lying."

Ember shot a glance in Glory's direction, she glared miserably at him from where she sat.

"Glory, you're awake. How do you feel?" He asked.

"Miserable no thanks to you." She said rudely. The shadows of the darkness covered her body and she looked threatening from over there. "Just admit it, not all of us are going to survive, are we?"

"Poison is acting up again, telepath." Urchin swore.

"For once in your life! Just admit, I'm going to die, and you won't be there to defend me!"

Ember grabbed the bowl of antidote and a syringe from his bag. He filled it up with the red liquid and walked over to Glory. She stood up evilly and he stood beside her while trying to capture her in his arms.

"Don't touch me!" She yelled and elbowed him in the ribs. He coughed and dropped the syringe on the floor, he held his waist where she hit him.

Astro rushed over and grabbed the needle while Urchin held Glory's hands tight behind her back and let Astro push the antidote into her wrist. Glory groaned and struggled until eventually giving up and breathed deeply. She looked around as Urchin and Astro stepped back, Glory rubbed her wrist and just caught Ember rubbing his ribs where she hit him.

"Ember, I'm so sorry." She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him into a deep hug. He hesitated and embraced her tightly.

"I'm okay, Glory. Don't worry." Ember said, still hugging her. She never wanted to let go of him, he was the key to her sanity, to her happiness. She loved him so much, though she didn't admit it.

"Get a room, you two." Urchin said.

Finally, to their disappointment, they stopped hugging and sat back in their original spots, except this time Glory sat in the open doorway of the train cart.

"Be careful, Glory." Ember said worriedly.

"You're always worried about me, Limpy." Glory teased.

"Is that seriously my new nickname now, Wolfy?" Ember smirked.

"Touché." Glory smiled and looked outside at the landscape.

Astro curled up next to Raven and he wrapped his arm around her waist. She smiled and drifted off to sleep. Urchin climbed up the stack of crates and slept out of sight in the shadows.

"You should get some sleep, Ember. We have a long way to go." Glory whispered.

"Yeah I know, I'm just not tired enough yet." Ember argued.

Glory shut the door and laid down by her row of crates. She turned her back to her friends and closed her eyes in the darkness. Ember stared at her and got lost in thought. He imagined her without scars covering her arms and legs, she would still be the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. He crawled over and sat next to her head, then he pushed her hair behind her ear and slept soundly beside her.
