Paul's POV
It was my sixteenth birthday and this special day was about to change everything. Actually the day started as normal as every year. The first thing I saw, was my brother Eddie. He was jumping on my bed excitedly and my mom came in with a cake. As always I blew out the candles and ran down stairs. My family stood in the living room to sing 'Happy Birthday'. This year even my grandparents were there. Ed jumped around me and wanted that I open the presents. My father had bought me an Everly Brothers record, my mom a new suit and my brother new guitar strings. But the present that changed everything was from my grandparents. It was a golden glittery box with a little slit on top of it. Excitedly I wanted to open it, but my grandpa hold me back. "No, Paul. Don't open it. It's a wish box." "A wish box?", Eddie and I asked to the same time. "I wish box. You can put all your wishes in there and they will come true. But they will just come true, if they are coming from your heart or if they are a very deep desire of you. Just put a piece of paper with your wish in there" My eye's sparkled and Ed's as well. But our dad shook his head:"Dad, I hope you didn't spent money on that. That's just superstition." "It's not! You just have to believe in it. And it's my present to Paul. So it's his decision." Lou knew that an argument wouldn't bring anything. "Oh, and this book from your grandma." "A book is good?",Lou nodded but as I unpacked the mysterious book. Lou shared his head in disappointment again. "I give up.", dad said annoyed. It was a black book with silver ornaments and the words 'dark magic' stood on them. I wanted to open it, but I couldn't it just wasn't possible. Even if I tried so hard. My grandma pulled me close and whispered:"Be careful with that. Don't use it for funny. Use it wise. I'm pretty sure you are the right one for that. It will open itself when you are ready for reading it." I nodded a little bit disappointed.

But Ed and I just grabbed the box and the record and ran upstairs again. Immediatly I turbed my new Everly Brothers record on. In the maintime Ed inspicerted the box. "Do you believe in that?", I asked him. "Maybe. Let's find out. What is your biggest wish?" "Ed, you need to be carful with things like that. A wish needs to be written down as detailed as possible." "Why?" "Well, if I would for example write 'I want to grow as tall as Art.' Than this is way to unpredictable. I maybe wouldn't grow normally. Instead maybe just my hair would grow." "I see.", Ed giggled, amused by the image of Paul with his hair growing up. "You want to be as tall as Art?" "Yeah, maybe... I just want to get in the baseball team and get respect.", I confirmed. "I see.", Ed repeated and giggled even more. "Baseball and Art.", Eddie said mysteriously and jumped on his bed. "What?! What's wrong with that." "Paul, that's boring. You don't see what this thing can. You could be the best guitarist ever or meet the Everly Brothers." "For getting the best you need to practice the hardest. You will never be the best, when you not working hard." "Uff, philosophy Paul is speaking words of wisdom.", Eddie joked. I shocked my head, but also smiled a bit over my brother. "Anyways, write something down." "What?" "Everly Brothers! Everly Brothers...", Eddie repeated the whole time and jumped around me. "No. I wouldn't have any clue what to say to them." "That their are your idols?" "No. I'm way too shy for that." "What else than." "Well, I would have an idea, but you must swear that you never ever will tell anyone of this." "Not even that Art of yours?" "Not even Art. He will just laugh about it anyways and explain this with his boring reality." "I thought you like..." "Shut up, Ed!" I blushed a bit. Yeah, Art was cute but also my best friend and a boy. So I written my wish as detailed as possible down and dropped it in the box. Ed and I started at the box and at the same time at me. But nothing happened. We waited.

But after half an hour nothing happened and our door bell rang. I rushed down. There was just one person who I was waiting for. Before I opened the door. I could already see curly blonde hair ragen over the window of the door. I opened the door immediately. "Artie!", I yelled happy up to him. Art Garfunkel as a friend was to be honest the best present of all. "Happy Birthday Paul." Art said and gave me his present. It was a blue and orange book with fluffy fur on it and the letters 'Paul+Art=forever' written on it and with pictures in it. "Awww, Artie. A friendship book." "Yeah, it's a book with all pictures important pictures in it and there is even space for more." Art grinned proudly. I already started opening the self made book. It had baby pictures of me and Art in it. And pictures of the both of us at the Alice and wonderland play and so much more amazing memories. "Oh, Art. Thank you so much. But were did you get my baby photos from? They are so embarrassing." "No, you were cute. No, you are cute." After saying that Art scratched his head and turned red a bit. He blushed? No, probably I just had miss seen this. "Anyways I will get my guitar and than we can practice in the basement." Art nodded still a little bit red. I ran upstairs and grabbed my guitar. Artie and I continued working on our song 'Hey, Schoolgirl' and I forgot this strange magical box. It didn't worked anyway. It was just a joke from my grandparents. Nothing more. Real magic didn't exist. But I didn't needed it anyways. I had Artie and our music and that was magical enough.
