Maria looked in her mirror again. And again. And again. And again. She still couldn't get over the fact that she was the storm keeper. This was probably by far the best thing that had happened to her. She was from a poor family with two siblings, and it was a luxury to eat something other bread for dinner and breakfast.
Suddenly her older sister, Sarah, ran into her room, almost breaking the door.
"RIA, LOOK!" She waved an opened letter around. "READ IT!"
Maria took the letter from her. She quickly skimmed through the letter. It was from the Mayor of her town asking to visit her... tomorrow. She couldn't believe it!
"Does Mom and Dad know?" She asked.
"Yup!" Sarah nodded excitedly. "Go find a decent outfit!"
Maria smiled and hugged her sister. "I will! Love you!"
Sarah hugged back, and then ran out of the room.
"HEY! YOU FORGOT TO CLOSE THE DOOR!"
