twenty three- alone

sofia pov:
its been two weeks since i moved in with and i would love nothing more than to be able to tell you that everything is perfect but that is unfortunately not the case. me and jesse haven't been seeing eye to eye recently, hes always at training and we barely see each other and even when he's not a training hes either partying or travelling with his friends, i don't mean to be clingy or restrict jesse but its all too much. we are meant to be a couple and at the minute i couldn't feel anymore lonely especially in this big house which i spend most nights sleeping in alone.

i hear the door open and a sad looking jesse walk in, i look at him with tears in my eyes- we both know our relationship isn't working. jesse takes a deep breath and with no emotion tells me that he's packing a bag as he has to travel to greece to play a match tomorrow.

"wait jesse can we at least talk tonight before you leave in the morning" i say still feeling upset.

"what's there to talk about. you will be glad to see me gone for a few days" he replies.

"no you don't understand i love you! i barely see you anymore jess. you're either partying or training and im left here in this big house all alone." i cry.

jesse just looks at me in shock, he holds me in his arms and we both cry because we know that we are not going to be together much longer.

jesse pov:
watching sofia cry breaks my heart, and because i love her- i have to leave her. i cant be the source of her pain anymore. she deserves to live her life freely without having to worry about me.

tomorrow, i will travel to greece. heartbroken. leaving sofia behind yet again.

we both go to bed and lay in silence, but our hands are gripped together as tight as they could possibly be. we both know that breaking up is the last thing that we want to do but we know it's for the best.

"jesse" she whispers. "yeah"

"we should just take a break, have a little bit of time apart. i don't want to break up"

i was relieved that sofia didn't want to break up. "yeah, i dont want us to break up either- i promise one day im going to to be the man that you deserve"
