Experiment 0666: an Avengers fanfic

Chapter 25 Mae's pov

Waking up I notice I'm laying on a very warm, breathing pillow. I open my eyes slowly and almost laugh at what I see. I'm laying on top of Loki, Bucky is curled around us, and Cerberus is laying along the bottom of the bed, curled up like a dog would.

I smile at my boys and close my eyes again, enjoying this small moment of peace with them. I drift back to sleep listening to Loki's heartbeat, Bucky's slight snoring, and Cerberus's small soft words from him talking in his sleep. Thinking about how much I enjoy this, I fall back into the darkness of sleep.

I wake again to a hand rubbing my back, one rubbing my leg, and another running fingers through my hair. I hear hushed voices talking as I shift slightly. They stop as I open my eyes and smile. I'm still on top of Loki, Bucky on one side and Cerb is sitting further down by my legs.

I sit up with a stretch, straddling Loki, and grin as an iced coffee appears in front of me with a shimmer of green. I giggle as I grab it and take a couple sips.

"So I assume everything is taken care of and went well? Did you get the names?" I ask glancing at each. They nod with smiles as I take another sip of my coffee.

"Well then it's time we fix that." I say, pointing to Cerberus's chest. I climb over Bucky and stand, back towards the bed.

With a flash of purple I'm in the same black ball gown as before. I notice black smoke and a green shimmer but ignore it as Cerberus stands in front of me, now in armor.

I stare at him as he kneels in front of me, repeating his oath and uses his dagger to slice his palm again. I take his dagger and do the same.

"I accept your pledge, Cerberus of the Gates of Hell." I say as I push our palms together.

"Blood for blood, your oath is sealed. You may rise, warrior." I say and help him up. He smiles as he heals our hands before side stepping. I give him a confused look before 2 new figures kneel in front of me. I look down in surprise to see the god and super soldier in their armor as well.

I open my mouth to ask what they are doing, only for them to start to speak.

"I pledge my services to you, our queen, as long as you will have my blade. I will do everything in my power to protect you from harm, to care for you in times of need, and to fight alongside you, I swear it." They say in unison.

"You both know this oath is binding, correct? You could get hurt." I ask, looking at the 2 who hold their daggers out to me in one hand, palm bleeding on the other.

"We know Babydoll, we want this if you will have us." Bucky says while Loki nods. I look at them both before nodding, moving left to right, I start with Bucky. I take his dagger and slice my palm.

"I accept your pledge, Sergeant James Barnes of Earth." I say before taking his bleeding hand in mine.

"Blood for blood, your oath is sealed. You may rise, soldier." I finish before healing our hands. I step to Loki next.

"I accept your pledge, Prince Loki Friggason of Asgard." I say before pushing our palms together.

"Blood for blood, your oath is sealed. You may rise..." I hesitate for a moment.

"God of mischief and lies." I say. He smiles and heals our hands while they are still together. They all stand beside each other before changing us all back to normal clothes.

They look at their chests to see they all have the same black crown under their left collarbone.

We head to the common floor of the tower, hopefully in time for breakfast.

"What time is it, Sweetpea?" I ask the AI in the elevator.

"It is 9:03 am Morningstar, and I got pictures and a video from earlier which has already been uploaded to your phone." She replies with a light tone, seeming happy.

"You're the best Sweetpea." I say heading to the kitchen once the doors open. No one was up yet so I decided to make breakfast, eggs, bacon, toast and hash browns, for everyone. One by one they make their way to sit at the table, already set. I make the food appear in front of them with a flash of purple, as they all start to devour it like wolves. I laugh and take a picture to add to my collection before sitting and eating with them.

"So what's the plan for today?" I ask Steve, who has a mouth full of toast. I giggle as he chokes trying to swallow it all.

"Well, we were hoping to see more of what you and Cerberus could do together, so we were going to head to the outside training area again." He finally manages after a sip of water. I nod at him with a smile before I continue eating. I think about what would be good to show them, the things we could do together that would be helpful.

We didn't get a lot of time to actually work together while in Hydra, they thought it was a privilege for me to see him. I can feel my anger rise as I continue to think about it. Cerberous must feel this since the next moment he's knocking on my mental barrier. I allowed him into the edge of it, just enough so I could hear him.

'What's going on Queenie? I can feel your rage from here. Please, you must calm yourself before the others notice.' He says softly. I blew out a huff before taking a few deep breaths.

'I was thinking about the assholes in Hydra is all. We haven't really practiced together so I'm not exactly sure what to show the team that would be even slightly helpful.' I say after I cool down some.

'Stop stressing Queenie, we know what we are doing. I'll show them my copy ability along with my regular training. We'll go through our drills and show our decoys like we did that one time. I'll change into whatever animal they think of. The only thing I don't want them to know about is the hologram ability. I would have to go back to the Gates to show it accurately and I don't want to do that just yet.' He says with a shrug.

'I just don't want them to think we're useless and make us leave...I like it here Cerb.' I say after a minute, putting my head down.

'You also like the people here.' He says. I look up to see him grinning before he wiggles his eyebrows at me. I giggle, throwing a piece of toast at him to make him shut up. The others looked at us in surprise, having no idea what was going on. He catches it and takes a bite before he continues.

'They aren't going to ask you to leave. You are anything but useless, hell you heal them all the time. Stop stressing or the 2 beside you are going to destroy stuff.' He says pointing the toast at me and nodding. I look at him in question, unsure what that was supposed to mean at all. He shrugs before finishing his juice.

Everyone finishes up, Loki clears the table with his magic as Cerb uses his to clean up the kitchen. We all grab some drinks from the fridge before heading out, not bothering to change from the sweats most of us were wearing. I look down silently, having a sinking feeling in my stomach. Something was going to happen, something not good, I just didn't know what or when.
