JENNIE

I'm currently running as I was late for work again.

I overslept, I went out with my friends for a drink last night.

I checked my watch and saw that I'm already 30 minutes late, making me run even faster than earlier.

I went to our blocks as soon as I arrived at the company and noticed that everyone was looking at me.

'Rosé,' one of my coworkers, approached me and whispered, "Girl, you're messed up again. Ms. Manoban has been waiting for your presentation. Good luck."

I sighed and went to her office.

Even though our Boss, Ms. Manoban, is quite attractive, she is a jerk.

She is always striving for perfection and always assigns me a large amount of work.

I have never seen her smile at us in my year of working with her as her secretary.

I went to her office and gently knocked.

I walked in after hearing her deep voice, say, 'Come in.'

"So, Ms. Kim, what are your lame excuses for being late again?" She said without looking at me as she continued to sign paperworks.

"Ummm..." I murmur as I was out of reasonings to tell him.

"You're late for the second time this week, and if-" Before she could continue, I cut her off.

"I'm sorry, Ms Manoban. Please, don't fire me. This job is extremely important to me." I said, looking down, in a very polite tone.

"Okay, fine. But, Ms. Kim, I'm telling you, this is the last time." She warned.

She pointed to the gigantic stacks of documents and said, "Complete these files before today's deadline. You may say that this is your punishment, and if you don't complete them, you will be dismissed. Now go."

I sighed as I examined the documents. Then took them out of her office with me.

"So you fired or not?" Rosé teased.

"No, I'm not but I'm resigning to our friendship today." I teased back.

"Noooo unnie, I'm just joking," she exclaimed with her baby voice as I walked by her to my table.

I slightly laughed at her silliness.

"Hey Bitches, do you have any spare time tonight?" Jisoo bursts through the door.

"Look at how much work I have ahead of me. I'm not sure I'll be able to go home today." I responded.

"That jerk, if you want, we could help!" Rosé said.

"Really?" I said, doubting.

"Yes!" Jisoo said this time.

"Aww, I'm so lucky to have you guys."

"I know, I know," Rosé responded, "But come on, we still have a lot of work to do." The three of us returned to work.

"Hahaha, but there are moments when I feel sorry for her wife." My eyes widened when Jisoo stated something unexpected.

"What?! Is she already married?" I exclaimed.

"Duh, I'm talk about his 'future' wife, Idiot." Jisoo said.

"How come you're asking?" Rosé asked.

"Nothing, just curious; come on, let's go back to work," I say as I shift the conversation's focus.

"Hmmm..." Both Rosé and Jisoo gave me a suspicious glance but didn't ask any questions.
