harry couldn't believe his eyes the second he saw lexie, it was like everything fell into place.
he knew it was wrong to act as though he didn't know her, but five years was an eternity, and therefore he didn't know her anymore.
harry didn't know if he was ever going to tell her that they had known each other in a different life, but he knew he couldn't let her go, not again.
all last night they had talked on the phone, eventually falling asleep at 3 in the morning, they had discussed things like their favorite time of day to their favorite cereal.
for him, it had felt as though time hadn't missed a beat.
harry desperately wanted to call ron or hermione and tell them the amazing news, but he knew he would get an earful from hermione about how dangerous this was, after all, lexie had forgotten about magic.
for lexie, she knew her and harry had a strong connection, something about talking to him made her lose her mind, but in a good way of course.
-
"fucking boxes," lexie grumbled while pushing a pile of cardboard out into the hallway of her flat building. just then, a door in the hallway opened, and a figure stepped out.
"lexie?" the person, who turned out to be harry, questioned.
"harry? you live in this building?" lexie asked curiously.
he let out a soft chuckle, "yea, yea i do. need some help with the boxes?"
lexie shrugged, "do you think people would be mad if i left these in the hallway?"
"probably."
lexie laughed loudly before covering her mouth, "wanna come in?"
harry nodded happily before taking a step in, "so i see you've settled in?"
"only took three days." she rolled her eyes jokingly.
"it's nice in here," he walked through the kitchen to the living room. the room had light pink accents but had mainly gray furniture.
"here, i'll give you a tour." she said with a happy smile before turning dramatically towards him, "okay, this is the living room." she gestured towards the decorated space before pointing towards the kitchen, "that's the kitchen."
lexie grabbed harry's hand and started towards the hall, "this is the bathroom, and then," she pushed open the door to the bedroom, "this is my room!"
lexie let go of his hand and flopped onto her bed dramatically, harry following suit.
"okay so hear me out, you know how you said chocolate lava cake was your favorite?"
"i believe i do remember saying that." harry chuckled.
"perfect, well you see, i bought ingredients to make some." lexie grinned.
harry eyed her with his eyebrows raised, "do you know how to bake?"
"okay well, i haven't really baked much but i feel like when i start maybe i'll end up being really good at it, like maybe i'll unlock a past memory of me baking?" she suggested.
harry looked at her curiously, "past memory?"
lexie propped her head up on her hand, "when i was eighteen i was in a car accident, and so i forgot almost everything. it's called amnesia."
"i'm really sorry, lexie." harry felt a pang of guilt.
she shrugged, "it's alright." lexie stood up and started for the kitchen, "ready to make some chocolate lava cake?"
-
"that was delicious." harry admitted while standing up and grabbing his and lexie's plate and starting towards the sink.
"so maybe i was an amazing baker before." lexie laughed.
harry eyed her with a smirk, "lexie, you followed every step off the box."
"oh piss off." she laughed.
"is that a record player?" harry asked out of curiosity while eyeing the box that sat next to the small tv.
"yea, but i don't have any records. i was planning on buying some later."
"i have some in my flat- i can go grab one." harry spoke while gesturing towards his flat.
lexie smiled happily, "okay."
harry left, only to return two minutes later, now holding a record. he walked towards the record player and gently set the record atop and set the needle on. the music started echoing throughout the room.
harry held out his hand towards lexie, "wanna dance?"
lexie laughed while standing up and taking his hand, putting her arms around his neck as his went around her waist, "i know you did not just ask me to dance."
"you're dancing with me anyway?" he suggested while smirking.
she shook her head lightly with a smile, "whatever."
"so i had an idea," harry started, "since you just moved here what if we went out together one night? like a dinner or something?"
"are you asking me on a date, harry?" lexie asked teasingly.
"oh whatever, just answer the question." he shook his head.
"you're cute when you're mad. sure, i'll go on a date with you."
"does tomorrow night work?"
"sure, sounds good."
harry let go of lexie as the song ended and glanced towards the door, "i have work in the morning so i guess i should be going."
lexie nodded while leaning against the door as he stood in the doorway, "okay. i'll see you tomorrow."
"tomorrow." he agreed while nodding awkwardly.
lexie smiled before lightly shutting the door. she turned around and leaned on the door, "oh my god." she ran her hands down her face, but she was still smiling.
she heard a knock on the door, quickly she turned around and pulled open the door. lexie barely had time to comprehend harry standing in the doorway before she was pulled into a kiss, not that she minded.
harry held lexie's face in his hands, as though she would slip away again. they shuffled into the apartment before lexie kicked the door closed.
harry pinned lexie against the door as they kept on making out. "harry," lexie started in between kisses.
"we've known eachother for one week." she spoke while pulling away and staring at him. his lips were swollen and his hair laid messily over his eyes, lexie was sure he was still the most beautiful thing she had ever hair her eyes on."it feels like i've known you longer." harry admitted.
screw it, lexie thought.
