Jenna-May came back into the living room with Morgan. She was beaming, her dazzling brown eyes sparkling with anticipation.
"She's got a plan, gang."
Morgan took a deep breath and held up a small box "I've been working on this for a few months now, using my dad's old blueprints." she threw it into the air and it transformed into an Iron Man suit.
"Your plan is to wearing your dad's suit?" Olivia asked.
Morgan threw a glare "No. My plan is we form our own superhero team to save our parents."
Cooper stood up very quickly "Nope! No! Absolutely not!"
I looked at him "What's the big deal? Do you want to get dad back?"
"Of course I do. But, Lila, we're not heroes. We're from Missouri for crying out loud."
I walked over to him and slapped my brother "Dad's a hero and he's from Iowa!"
"Lila. WE are not heroes. I mean, look at us."
"It matters not what you are born, but what you choose to be." Tabitha said in response.
Everyone looked at her. Kayla was looking rather confused.
"Tabitha?" Cooper started "What, the fuck, are you TALKING about?"
Sam looked at him "Anyone can be a hero. It doesn't matter what they wear or what they look like. So long as they are good, courageous, and selfless."
I liked that metaphor. I made a mental note to remember what Tabitha said. Cooper rolled his eyes.
"Whatever! But if we fail at being heroes, I'm gonna say I told you so!"

Morgan lead us outside and handed me and Cooper a bow and a quiver full of arrows each. When Cooper tried to protest, I kicked him in the shin.
"We're the children of Hawkeye. It'll be like second nature."
We went over and started notching and flying arrows. Like I'd predicted, shooting an arrow was second nature to her brother. Pretty soon we were aiming arrows and they didn't miss the target.
After a while, we were joined by Morgan. She may have been a few years younger than us, but Cooper bowed his head to her as a polite way to greet the team leader. Morgan smiled and turned to me.
"How've you two come along?" she asked.
I pointed to the targets we were using. Most of our arrows were scattered around the target in various places.
Morgan smiled in a satisfied way "We're almost ready to go. But, first, I ordered dinner. Cheeseburgers?" Cooper opened his mouth, but Morgan cut him off "Yes, dude. I ordered you a veggie burger."
He closed his mouth and nodded with a smile. Morgan, Cooper, and I walked back to the house for dinner. We walked over to the picnic table and grabbed a paper plate each. Morgan placed Cooper's veggie burger on his plate and he squirted some mustard on the top bun.
"Thank you, Morgan." I said as she handed me a burger.
She smiled and I put some ketchup and mustard on the top bun. We sat and ate as we talked about how well we did as we trained in the skills we were good at. Jenna-May was talking about how Morgan sent her out to find different minerals, let Jenna-May use her microscope, all so Kayla could see what reacts with what.
"What did Morgan do?"
Morgan looked down at me and said "I built a couple different suits. I already have my own, but I had to build a suit for Cassie as well. Don't ask me further questions how I got Pym particles."
Everyone was silent for a little while after that. Loren looked over at Tyler, but before he could say anything, Tabitha said suddenly.
"Loren! Forget what you were going to say!"
Loren leaned back up "Sorry. I forgot what I was gonna say."
Tabitha smiled and jumped a little in her seat "I love doing that!"
Everyone was kind of amused by this. Tabitha had just found out she could make others do whatever she wanted, but she mostly used it on her brother and Loren.
"So, Morgan. What goes past forming our team?" Kayla asked.
Morgan smiled and clapped her hands three times in a row. A bot zoomed out of nowhere and produced a full sized whiteboard. Morgan took one more bite of her cheeseburger, then walked over to the bot, uncapping an Expo marker on her way.
She stuffed what she was chewing to one side of her mouth and started scribbling out quick drawings.
Still having food in her cheek like a chipmunk, Morgan said "So, what we really need to do is figure out where our parents are and how we're going to reach them. But, not to worry. I have the finding our parents worked out." she pulled out her phone and opened up an app "I made this app that tracks anything electronic. All I have to do is type my dad's name into the search bar. His suit won't be on him, but it'll be in the same proximity."
Jenna-May leaned forward over her plate "That's brilliant, Morg. When'd you make this app?"
Morgan tilted her head as she thought about this " Today. In about 90 minutes. Probably haven't worked out ALL the bugs, but it'll do to located dad's suit."
I couldn't believe this "You're absolutely sure your app won't lead us astray, Morgan?"
"I'm positive, Lila! You just stick to firing pointy sticks and I'll stick to creating our tech!" Morgan explained.
I leaned back. Morgan was confident in her intelligence, but I still felt uneasy. Something about Morgan building this app in under at least three hours made me nauseous. Morgan had been wrong before about her tech, so what made this app any different?
No! Stop worrying, Lila! Everything will be fine! I thought quickly. Then, I went back to finishing my burger and not having a care in the world.
