“Surrender now, or hell will reign fire on your kingdom!” Faith yelled, poison tainting her voice. “I would die before I surrender to someone like you!” I knew the risks, my kingdom would surely take the heavy blows of this war, but I couldn’t surrender. Not yet at least. Faith pointed a daring finger at me, “Fine, then I, Faith shall declare war on your measly little Rat kingdom! Be prepared, dear brother.” She disappeared into the night, but her menacing laugh remained as it sent shivers down my spine.

“Shit.. what have I gotten myself into now..” I muttered, putting a hand over my face. My mind clouded with thoughts of possible turnouts. Faith wouldn’t show mercy to someone of her own blood. That night I barely got much rest, I couldn’t with what I started.

The following morning I received a letter from my sister, it read the following; “We have captured your dear queen. This war starts now, brother.” My eyes widened in horror. Bunbunn, my cherished queen of the rats has fallen into this mess. Curses spewed from under my breath. “Guards! Prepare for battle..” I hated those words with a deep passion. War was never my strong suit, unlike Bunbunn who was much more experienced with this subject. It pained me that she got captured, god knows what Faith is doing to her.

Days passed as I watched soldier after soldier fall to my sister’s army. The scenes were gruesome as they were terrifying. Body parts flew past me, as I held my sword weakly in my hand. My lieutenant tapped my shoulder, “Your majesty, a third of our battalion has been completely wiped-” no.. All these people here were here dying and risking everything for my selfish intentions. What type of king was I? “What about the special forces squad?” They were bound to put a dent in the opposing numbers.

“Gone as well..” My sword clanked onto the rough ground. “Wha- What?” I smiled nervously. “What are your orders sir?” What would she do? I gulped the lump in my throat. “Uhm-” A bomb went off in the distance and more bodies came raining down onto the soil. “Sir?”

What do I do? If only there was a way to go to Faith and- that’s it. “Preserve our remaining soldiers, I will return shortly.” I grabbed my sword and started to walk back to a tent near the river. “Sir!?” The now heavily confused lieutenant called after me. If I couldn’t fight for my kingdom, I could gather information from the source.

Throwing on my cape, I took the reins of my horse into my hands and jumped on. “Please be safe, my people” I whispered, before taking off into the night scenery.

Trees flew by my eyes as my horse sped down the faint marks of a man-made road. Crickets chirped in the bushes.

The kingdom of Lore came into view after an hour of riding. “Here we are Cherry,” I announced to my companion. Taking a breath, I pulled the hood over my head and dismounted my steed. “Here goes nothing,”

Surprisingly, seeing how there was a war currently going on not too far away, The castle wasn’t heavily guarded. A part of me was mildly suspicious of that fact, but I didn’t put much thought to it. And there she was. Bunbunn and my sister were on the balcony. “What in the he-” I looked at her hands, no handcuffs? No restraints? Of course. Dear old sister Faith, merely used the queen as bait to get me to come straight to her. And as if they were reading my mind, four guards surrounded me in an instant. “Well damn, isn’t this swell?” I muttered under my breath

“Hello brother.” Her voice echoed into the throne room. I was shoved down to my knees by a guard, who glared menacingly at me. “I suppose you’ve come to retrieve the queen, hm?” she hummed. I scoffed, oh cut the act, we all know you have worse intentions than to act all innocent. “It’s a shame that that isn’t going to work out for you though, she’s not here.” My eyes shot up, “What?”
