Chapter 2: 'Oh Thanks I'm Special

I started to walk backwards and of course being the clumsy me I managed to trip over my own feet, and landed flat on my back and hitting my head on the way down. I vaguely remember grover calling my name, but as I awoke from my daze he was sprawled on the ground with his crutches no where to be seen (oh yeah I forgot to mention, grover is a cripple). I looked around frantically trying to find someone to help when I hear this. : "Mr smith your are the second child a special God, I have been tasked to find you, and now I have... Prepare to die". I started to turn when suddenly out of nowhere, mr David lands in front of me, but he now has wings the colour of decaying flesh ( and smelt the same ). He snatched at me with his claws but I jumped to my right, just missing them. "You cannot dodge me forever" Mr David taunted as he chased me toward the horses he was talking to me about earlier. I arrived at the wooden fence milliseconds before my former teacher did, and ducked the second I did. I felt the wind caused by his wings on the back of neck, and my heart leapt into my throat. Before I could recover, Mr David was speaking again. But I couldn't understand it this time "HIPPOI HEPHAESTUS" he boomed across the small stable to me. And as he did the four horses began to rear and buck, and...started breathing fire.

I couldn't breath, my legs had gone numb and my heart was racing at 3000 miles per hour. It was now that I finally realised what I should do, and in my head I invisioned the weird monster version of mr David, flying towards me but falling asleep halfway, and lands headfirst into a tree.

And when I scrambled to my feet that was what I saw.

"JAKE" grover screamed. "WHERE ARE YOU BUDDY" followed with, I turned around and there he was, grover with his back turned looking in the completely opposite direction. "Oi" "cripple" I shouted "over here". He turned and instantly ran towards me. I tried to get him to stop (because he was even more clumsy than me). But he didn't and ran headlong towards me. But the horses saw him do it, and they began breathing fire again, sending flames in his direction. Grover jumped sideways to avoid them, and tripped over the sleeping form of mr David. I thought he was done for but instead he scrambled under the body and used him as a shield and walked the rest of the way over to me. "Jake"he blurted out "we need to go now" he managed in between gasps. "I'm fine, thanks for asking" was my reply. He paid no attention he grabbed me by the wrist and dragged me along behind him. We stopped just against the stable, and grover pulled out a set of reed pipes, and began playing a song, instead of the horses trying to char grill him, they walked over to the fence and let him pat them, he turned to me and said "hop on". (Now after everything that happened to me today this was the least strangest, so I did) and then grover hopped on another, and played more of the song, and we sped off on two horses towards God knows where.

Eventually we stopped, we hopped off the horses near a tall pine tree, "Jake follow me" was all grover said. I did and we ended up in a... Campsite! I was thoroughly confused there were teenagers, walking around sword fighting, and shooting arrows at targets, and towards one end of the camp I could make out a strawberry field, complete with tiny red fruits hanging underneath. "Grover where are we ?" I asked, he turned to me and said, "Jake your special, your not like ordinary people, no one here is, surely you've thought that, you ere different, well you were right, your a half blood, one of the Olympian gods came down from Olympus, and you were there child". I stared at him blankly for a few seconds, "oh thanks, I'm special" was my reply before he could reply, there was a huge commotion coming from the opposite end of the camp, a chariot had landed, and out came a screaming girl, with blonde hair and grey eyes. "Annabeth" grover cried, and ran towards her, but not before leaving me with a kid called Will Solace who would show me around.
