This is a story of a pair of lovers from the past, a parallel dimension. It was a magical world, the kind you would find in legends. In order to avoid confusion, the multiple destinations and ranks of power will be explained as we progress in the story, for I have seen a great number of good stories be destroyed in this manner. Anyways, let's start with introductions.

Bei Wei Wei

She is the second daughter of the Bei family of Qing Zhou. Her father is the governor of Qing Zhou and her mother is his main and only wife. She has an elder sister and brother and an adorable younger brother. She has been trained in martial arts since childhood and is even more proficient in medicine and alchemy. She doesn't have any interest in falling in love and spends her days in her courtyard refining medicines and elixirs or cultivating.

Xiao Nai

He is the eldest son of the Emperor and the Empress, the crown prince of Zhi Yi, and is a mysterious person who is loved by his subjects. He is a rare talent in the world of cultivation. He only wants to do what is best for his country and desires nothing else. He once heard a story (also narrated by me) about a ruler who went against the world to protect the woman he loved and vowed to only love one woman in his life and only marry her. He has two younger brothers and one younger sister.

Zhao Er'xi

She is the daughter of the Zhao family of the capital and Wei Wei's best friend. She is a master at zither playing and using it as a weapon and for defense.

Cao Guang

Son of the esteemed Cao family. He is a remarkable scholar who is engaged to Zhao Er'xi but isn't interested in her initially.

Tian Si Si

Daughter of the Imperial preceptor and is engaged to the commander of the imperial guards, Yu Ban Shan.

Yu Ban Shan

He is the commander of the imperial guards, eldest son of the Yu family, and the trusted guard of Xiao Nai

Xiao Ling

She is the daughter of the richest family in the empire and a county princess. She helps Wei Wei out a lot in the capital with herbs and other stuff. Her surname is homophobic with that of the royal family but is written differently. Her title is County Princess An Ning. (安宁郡主).
