"You've always looked good in red." I said to my best friend as she checked her self out in the mirror worrying if what she was wearing was good enough for the frat party.I never knew why she doubted herself so much. From my eyes she had the best physique a girl could ask for.
Her long black hair hung perfectly above the arch of her back as she turned around to check the back of her dress.
She was wearing a mid length red silky dress, and it hugged her like a glove.
"Are you sure it's not too much?" she complained.
"Ariya." I glared. "you look fine."
"I just want to look good for our first college party."
Don't get me wrong, I was a sucker for parties, that's what got me through high school, but I couldn't help but be worried. Frat parties are high school parties on crack.
"Whatever" I rolled my eyes and threw the nearest pillow at her.
"What are you even going to wear? You've been sitting there on your phone this entire time." Ariya barked as she threw the pillow right back at me.
"I'm not going" I joked.
"NICOLE LOWE BRANSON!" she shouted. "There is no way I am going anywhere on that campus alone."
Her dramatic tone was enough to get a rise of laughter out of me. "Ariya I'm kidding!" I said as I got up from the comfort of my bean bag and headed to my room. "I just don't take three hours to get ready like you."
Ariya and I were never the ones to want to live in a dorm room. Too much noise and not enough space. So we took the harder, more expensive route of buying our own apartment, but we had no complaints, we loved it here.
"You better be." she mumbled under her breath.
I got to my closet and started rummaging through all of my choices. I had tons of clothes but none of them seemed to fit my standards for this specific night.
I walked out of my room and slumped back down in my bean bag. "I don't know what to wear" I pouted, dragging my words.
"You're so difficult." Ariya exaggerated as she walked to my room and sassily hand gestured for me to follow.
Rolling my eyes I abided.
She started rummaging through my closet exactly the way I did. "What about this?" she asked as she pulled out a short black dress with spaghetti straps.
"It's a college party, not a strip club" I answered.
"Try it on" she insisted completely ignoring what I had just said.
I rolled my eyes and grabbed the dress as she headed back to the bathroom to finish touching up her hair.
I slid the dress up my body and checked it out in my mirror. It didn't look bad, it just made me uncomfortable. I walked out to where Ariya was doing her hair. Her jaw dropped in surprise.
"You HAVE to wear that!" she exaggerated. "Your ass looks phenomenal in that dress."
I couldn't help but laugh. "Why thank you." I replied as I smacked hers. "Are you ready to go or what?" I shouted while walking back to my room to secretly grab a flannel to wear over my dress.
I was not wearing something this extra to a frat party.
She gave me a nod and with that we headed to her black mini cooper and headed to the party at our new college.
I already had a good amount of makeup on from earlier today when I caked my face out of boredom.
"Seriously Nicole." she eyed my flannel.
I gave her a shrug of my shoulders and turned up the radio.

"Are you nervous?" Ariya asked as she pulled into the packed parking space of a huge white house. Off the bat you could tell this was a frat house, the door was wide open and there were red solo cups littering the ground.
"Well I wasn't until we pulled in" I groaned as I looked around at the huge crowds inside and outside of the house.
"Oh, you're fine." Ariya smiled "You have me" she beamed . I could tell how excited she was. She had the biggest smile on her face.
"Okay then, let's get this over with" I stepped out of the car and waited for her to join by my side so we could walk in together.
"Alright, let's go!" Ariya chirped. With that, she grabbed my hand and we headed to the door.
