Ambulance sirens

Fallon's POV.

I'm still tapping on the door screaming for Veronica to unlock it before she does anything to herself. I hear the sound of a gun and my heart feels like it dropped and stopped beating. "Quick find someone who can open the door" Dad shouts at steven. After a few moments Steven rushes back with a guy and we all start to push the door with him but it wouldn't open. "The window , the window in her room someone can climb up through it and open the door from the inside" I suggest . What if Veronica is dead by now? What if she is bleeding too much and she has lost alot of blood so she can't live ? Terrible ideas started getting into my head. Finally someone climbed through the window and opened the door. I wish I could unsee what I saw , Veronica was lying on the the floor with a pool of blood under her and a gun in her hand. "Call the ambulance !" Dad shouts. I couldn't help but cry , my tears just started to pour down I quickly approached Veronica "what did you do" I whisper to her knowing that she can't hear me. The ambulance took her away to the hospital.

We are in the hospital waiting room and the sound of the ambulance siren is still playing in my mind. She shot herself in her heart , what was she thinking ? This is like the first time I ever pray just for her to be safe. We waited and waited .... Hours and hours... Still nothing.

After a few more hours I see the doctor approaching us and my heart starts beating fast. "The surgery was a success, the gun shot was exactly 5 inches away from her heart due to her hand shaking while trying to commit suicide and the baby is okay." He says. I start to smile until he continues what he was saying "The surgery is done but now she is unconscious . If she doesnt wake up in 24 hours then I'm afraid there is nothing we can do." He says. "Atleast can we visit her ?" asks Dad "Yes" the doctor replies.

We walk into the room Veronica was staying in and it was a terrible scene to look at. She was wrapped in bandages and had an oxygen machine on her face. My heart ached. "She will be okay" Steven tells me as he puts his hand on my shoulder and I give him a weak smile .

It is 9 pm now and Dad leaves the hospital because he has papers he has to do for work so he leaves me and steven with Veronica alone knowing that we will take good care of her. "You can go now I will look after her" I tell Steven and he nods then leaves the room. I put a chair beside Veronica's bed and hold her hand. Then I start talking to her like an idiot , as if she can hear me. "Why did you do this to yourself ? Why ? Now you are between life and death. I mean the purpose of what you did is for you to die but we wont let you die this easily because we love you. Now get up , be that scary, mean but loving sister I know ." I tell her. As I start to feel her hand moving ! Her hand starts moving ! She starts to press hard on my hand. "Fallon ?" She asks with the words barely coming out of her mouth. "Yes I'm here" I tell her "Open your eyes come on" I continue. "Why didnt you let me die ? I want to die" she tells me. "Because we want you in our lives Veronica" I answer her. "What happened to the baby ? " she asks me "It is still alive" I answer her. "You are going to be an amazing mother" I tell her "No I wont" she answers "Yes you will" I argue "You wont be like our mother , you will be much better" I continue "No one can be as terrible as our mother Fallon" she tells me and we both start to laugh. "Ouch stop laughing you are infecting me with laughter and my chest is hurting when I laugh" she tells me. "That isn't my problem you are the one who made me laugh in the first place" I tell her. "I should call dad and steven , they should know you are okay" I say . She nods he head. I call them and I tell them that Veronica is fine and ofcorce I inform the doctor that she is awake now. In two days Veronica will get out of the hospital.
