You have gone against my rules again. Dad stopped me at the house entrance.
Dad. What is it ? I frowned.
I ordered you kids. I made a rule that no matter how late you are, no matter what time it is you should always come home and sleep. Moreover, you are a girl you are not supposed to be spending the night outside the house.
Really! I threw a big laughter. What daddy? I smiled. I can't remember when you imposed or should I say made that statement that we shouldn't be spending the night outside. You only said we should be careful where ever we are. Period!. I explained. Actually, I left him speechless because he can't even talk he kept on starring at me .
Daddy I'm off to my room.
Wait waliya. He said.
No .Waliya needs to go to her room. I walked away.
I laughed through out my walk to the room. That old man is forgetful.
I rested my head on the bed with last night thoughts when I heard music from the next room which is husna's room. That girl is crazy. She won't even let me rest. I'm not sure if they have had breakfast yet. It's too early for music.
I planted a hard knock on the door to her room.
Yes. Who is there? The hypocrite asked .
I didn't talk as I planted another. Immediately she opened.
So? She stood on the door way with her arms folded.
So get your stupid body to that speaker of yours and either turn of the music or reduce the volume. I ordered.
What if I don't? She raised an eyebrow.
Watch and see. I pushed her away and entered the room. It has been years since I last came into this room. It look so different. Who cares? I dragged the speaker from where it was balanced to the floor. It fell on the tiles and broke.
This is what I can do. I walked out of the room and headed downstairs to report. I couldn't find dad in the living room nor in his room so I decided to wait till he is back. I balanced my back on the dinning seat as I starred at the bottle of wine in front of me.
That girl! I fummed. My head was boiling.
Someone tapped me from behind. Turning back I saw Mansura and husna standing behind her.
Why did you enter my daughters room and destroyed her things? Mansura asked.
She knew her room is next to mine and she kept on playing music. It was too loud. So irritating. I explained. Why am I even explaining? I hissed.
That hiss isn't for my mom. It is for your mom who is in the grave. Husna spoke.
OMG! How dare she. I stood up immediately. You said what?
You heard me well. She spoke confidently.
I quickly grabbed the bottle of wine and broke it on her head.
She fell on the floor immediately.
What have you done waliya. My daughter. Mansura cried.
I didn't go to my room. I just sat there on the seat. I was so lost in my own world. I didn't even know how she got to the hospital until when dad came in shouting.
Waliya! He shouted my name from the living room.
I didn't bother to answer. I just rested my head on the table as tears drop.
It as if the maid told him I am at the dinning room.
So you are here. I heard his voice besides me.
