After a terrible violent nightmare, Marinette shot up from bed. Her heart is bounding out of her chest, sweat and tears dripping from her chin, and her whole body is trebling from fear. Tikki flew up right next to her face; "Marinette what's wrong? Did you have a nightmare?" Tikki's voice sounded muffled to Marinette and she looked straight threw her as if Tikki was a ghost. Her little hot pink friend kept trying to be noticed, be helpful, and be the guardian for the guardian. Unfortunately, nothing Tikki did was snapping Marinette out of this trance.

*Knock* *Knock*

Marinette flinched and let out a tiny scream at the sound of the knocking on the window. She looked at the window hesitantly and saw two green eyes looking in. "Chat Noir?" What was he doing at her house, and how did he know that she needed him? So many questions running through her mind as she pointed up to indicate to him to go to the trap door instead. She popped the hatch so he could jump on down onto her bed.

"Good evening Marinette, I'm sorry to bother you so late." Chat stated while readjusting himself on the bed.

"It's no problem kitty, besides I could use the company." She states trying to keep her voice from cracking, as she continues the conversation hoping he will talk long enough to give her time to at least act normal. "What's with the unexpected, late visit kitty?"

Chat Noir still looking down and rubbing the back of his head, "Well actually I umm wanted your advice about..." he finally looked up in order to make eye contact and he froze. "Marinette, were you crying?! Is everything okay?!" He announces noticing that her soft smile is not masking her pain. He put one hand on her shoulder to try to comfort her, but not making anymore movements to not overstep their friendship. His touch assured Marinette that he was really here, and she just crashed right into his chest. Embracing him as if she let go he would just disappear.

"You can talk to me you know." He spoke softly almost as a whisper. Chat Noir was trying to ease Marinette, he hates seeing her like this. Every time she is hurt or upset it fills him with a burning in his chest and a pit in his stomach, and all he wants is to protect her from the cruelty of the world. He has only ever felt like this with one other person, Ladybug. After a few moments of silence he decided to speak again, "Do...do you want to be left alone?" He didn't actually want to leave, but if he was not the one she need comfort or support from; he will respect that.

"N..No" Her voice breaking, "Sst..stay....p..please."

"Okay Marinette" She barely moved her head so he could see her eyes, "I'm not going anywhere." He gave her a soft smile as she berried her face more into him while dropping all of her weight to make them both lay on the bed. She used him as a pillow and she eventually was able to go into a peaceful sleep.
