It was a pretty average day for the girls. They attended class as usual, then their lunch time came around, where the group would reunite and spend time together. Sting and Beatriz were waiting for Kip, and just discussing an upcoming exam until Kip arrived. They greeted eachother and began to walk to the courtyard.
They spoke about their day, not much had really happened to them. "Actually, we got a new guy in my class." Kip spoke, catching the attention of the girls. "Huh, weird. Didn't you only get a new classmate like, a few weeks ago?" Sting asked. "Yep, we sure did. I swear, there are new kids coming in left right and centre. Apparently there were 2 new third years too." Kip replied. They were pretty confused at this whole situation, joking about potential reasons for this.As they were walking, they just happened to, once again, bump into Yuma, who stopped Kip to talk to her about the duel and make plans for the next one. While they did that, Beatriz was staring elsewhere - another first year boy wearing an eager expression on his face. He had odd, orange hair that spiked upwards. Sting had never, ever seen Beatriz looking so hateful. It was... frankly, very concerning that someone as kind and caring as her would hold this amount of pure, visible hatred for just some relatively short and seemingly harmless dude. Sting, of course confused, tapped her on the shoulder and asked her what was wrong. "Ngh.. that damn kid, Ray Shadows... something about him.. really makes me wanna sock him square in the face. I mean- of course I won't, but like... Man, something about him is way off. I wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole." Beatriz's voice was quiet, but laced with pure venom, her body tense, which took Sting by mighty surprise. "Wait- why?" Sting asked, wanting to know more. "I really don't know... I don't have a reason. It's completely irrational but, like... Something just irks me, y'know?" She bit her thumb and furrowed her eyebrows.
Sting took a moment, and simply shrugged. She took a look at this Ray kid to see if she understood. He didn't seem too remarkable to her, may as well be just another Yuma. "Bea, I think you should stop looking at this dude like that. He might notice, if not already—" Sting began, Beatriz quickly cutting her off with an "OH YEAH! Oops-" and quickly diverting her attention.
Kip and Yuma were still talking about duelling, but the conversation seemed to be coming to a close and Kip rejoined the girls. "So what's the deal?" Beatriz inquired. Kip took out her deck and began shuffling around the cards as she replied, "we're gonna have another duel soon. I'm not too bothered but he seemed really excited, so I'm not one to turn that down."
They continued to ramble together, but they didn't realise that yet again, those same hateful eyes were practically boring holes through them with how hard they were glaring. This person was beginning to brainstorm plots as to how they could get this to go their way, when suddenly a vague idea popped into their head.
"That's it!" They thought, "It's perfect. It's going to work flawlessly, I absolutely know it."[Timeskip]
**Unknown P.O.V**
I waited impatiently for my comrade to arrive. Always late, he is... I groan.
A few more minutes of lame waiting later, and he's finally here. "What is it?" He asked in a bored voice.
I chuckled, informing him "We have a new target that I would like YOU to pursue! And no buts! I'm picking you specifically for this!"
He groaned this time, and I just scoffed. "But why me? What can I do that the others don't? Humans are lame." He whined. "Oh shut up and do it. You're the perfect one for the job. There will be consequences if you don't!~" I threatened, which seemed to work. He gave in pretty quickly though hesitantly, so I dropped the scary act and roughly explained the situation.
At this point he seemed to just want it over and done with and only mumbled some "yeah, yeah"s and "whatever"s, before leaving to begin the task, to my chagrin. But heck, at least he's doing it. It would be nicer if he cared to put effort into this, I grumbled. Maybe then we would have a brighter outcome. Oh well, beggars can't be choosers. Well I mean, I sure can. Actually I should do that more.If my memory serves me correctly then, he will be well able to sway her. Aside from that, he really does seem to be fit for the job. He's already got a good idea of the destination and knows the layout better than any of us. Though he can be naïve... That's beside the point. He better succeed.
