Trage laid still, his arm was melted and the searing pain the rocked it was ignored in favor for staying as still as possible. He glanced at Sonaard, the big man glanced back. Doing his best to play dead as well. Vanessa laid still too, her long las was shattered and her left leg was covered in small splotches of acidic burns. The corpsman was also laying very still, a hand was laying several feet away from him, the rest of Trage's men were either dead or out of sight. The dozen ants that scuttled around kept his attention though, Trage gripped his bayonet in his useable hand. waiting for the ants to come close. As the minutes passed he found his chance, an ant had wandered close. Its beady eyes focused on the corpse beside him. Trage felt white hot anger well up, the corpse was a soldier he fought with for years, "Not letting them get ahold of you Clovis." Trage however, was not the first to act. A guardsman previously hidden behind the counter sprang up with a lasgun in hand and began to fire, three ants died from his fusillade but the man found himself hard pressed to kill the ants charging at him. Trage and the others took the opportunity and attacked, Trage sunk his bayonet into the ant in front of him. The xenos screeched and died. Vanessa slit the abdomen of another open with a broken bottle, Sonaard embedded the edge of a flagpole through two ants. The corpsman wrestled an ant onto its back and bashed it over the head with his medkit. Soon the fight was over and the assorted cadians stood there, huffing and puffing from effort. Trage cradled his arm and looked around, "Well, seems we've been judged to damn important to die. So...Er...Right, look for wounded we can stabilize and any weapons we can salvage."

Farrah walked as quickly as she could, her chest puffed up as much as possible. But it was useless, her confidence was all but nonexistent. And the matter of the dozen or so armed arrivals marching behind her did not assist matters. She had hoped negotiations would have been far more agreeable, but the arrivals had other ideas. As they walked into the main CIC the various command staff of the EDF stood as suddenly as they could, the arrival commander surveyed the area and walked forward. Farrah scrambled out of his way. A short static screech as he activated the translator, then the man spoke in a modulated yet deep voice. "Your planet is under the control of the Imperium of Man." Farrah glanced at the other arrivals, their green eyes bored holes into her and the others. She noticed with fear they had their fingers curled around the triggers of their varied weapons. One man even carried a hissing flamethrower she had no doubt might clear the room out by itself. The silence reigned for a while until an EDF general spoke up. "And if we do?" It was a dumb question born of nothing else to say. But the arrival welcomed it, he lifted his sword menacingly. "Because then I will kill you all. Now, you are all relived of rank and authority. We will allow you to persist here, as informants." The man strode out, leaving five of his arrivals to watch the EDF. Before exiting however he paused and cast a sidelong glance at Farrah. Then he looked back, as if remembering something. He pointed at an African Ranger Commander, "You." then he turned and pointed at Farrah. "You. Follow me." Farrah obliged, the Commander followed as well. Turning her pistol over to one of the arrivals. The man strode at a fast pace exiting the CIC bunker with haste, once outside he led the two to an idle transport. Once he and his retinue were seated dis Farrah dare to ask a question, "Where are we going?" The arrival made no movement, only staring straight ahead. "The void."

"We are to strike at the heart of the enemy, augur designations have noted that a large vessel hangs within the planet's atmosphere. We shall cripple its point defenses and open the way for our brothers." Terminator Sergeant Vaarn said as he slapped a box magazine into his plasma combi-bolter. He thudded towards the teleportation sanctum, the other members of his squad following behind. Vaarn slid into the Teleportation pod and braced, lightning strikes were never pleasurable. Especially from the battle barge in high orbit. He felt the sensation he had only barely grown accustomed to, every molecule of his body cast into the warp and restiched at its designation in a blinding flash of light. Once his boots were on solid ground he surveyed the area in an instant, massive missile silos and catwalks that criss crossed the chamber greeted him. He watched the shocked faces of mortals as they scrambled to access weapons and alarm systems. In a booming voice he called to them, "Cease, you are given a single chance to surrender. Comply or die." His translation matrix made the speech into a garbled yet legible growl. The mortals did not stop, and one raised a weapon. A single bullet was fired and struck his chest. The bullet didn't even scratch the paint. "So be it." He growled and began to fire, ripping everything apart.
