Everybody was staring at him and talking to each other in muffled tones. I stared as well. But for different reasons.
He still had the same smirk from when we were kids. He hadn't changed a bit. Except for getting taller and a sharper jawline. He looked exactly the same.
Suddenly he made eye contact with me. His smirk dropped and was replaced by a look of sorrow. Neither of us broke eye contact. We just continued to stare at each other.
Dumbledore pointed towards the Slytherin table and said something to Mattheo. He broke the eye contact and a sense of relief washed over me. He Turned away from Dumbledore and began to walk over to the Slytherin table.
I looked down at my plate as he came over. I had hoped that he would take a seat at the other end of the table but of course, he decided to sit right across from me in the empty seat next to Pansy.
I think Blaise could sense something was wrong because he lightly nudged my arm while giving me a look that said "are you alright?" I nodded my head because I didn't want to talk about it or make him worry.
Pansy had started a conversation with Mattheo which Draco then joined into. I kept seeing Mattheo give me small glances. Every time I caught him though I would find it awkward and quickly look away.
I wanted to hold my ground and stay but after a while, I just couldn't do it. So I came up with a great excuse to get myself out of this very uncomfortable situation.
"Hey guys, I think I'm gonna go to bed. I don't feel too great."
"Oh ok. Do you need anything? Medicine, Books, Food?"
"Thanks, Pansy but I think I just need sleep."
"Alright then well I hope you feel better in the morning"
"Night Y/N" yelled Blaise as I began to walk away
I'm pretty sure I also heard a faint goodbye from Draco.

Once I had made it to my dorm I fell back onto my bed. I stared up at the ceiling processing my thoughts. Why was he here? How did he get here? Is he working with Voldemort? All these questions filled my mind while I slowly drifted off to sleep.

6 October 1988
"I bet I can beat you!"
"Alright five galleons" he stuck his hand out to shake on it
I shook his hand roughly and started to sprint off.
"HEY NO FAIR YOU DIDN'T SAY START !" screamed Mattheo
"I DID, VERY QUIETLY!" I yelled back
The wind blew through my hair as I ran. The trees around me were a blur. I checked behind me to try and see Mattheo. He wasn't there so I had assumed he stopped further back. I kept running though. It wasn't too much further till the end. I was sure I was winning.
I started too slow as I got to the end until I was just walking. A huge grin was on my face. But an even bigger one was on his. There he sat at the top of our tree looking completely fine while I stood there as red as a tomato.
"I'd like my five galleons please"
"wha-what what how? yo-you were behind me. I couldn't even see you!"
"I took a shortcut," he said smugly
I glared at him while he started laughing. I tried my hardest to keep a frown or at least a straight face. But after a few moments, a smile crept onto my face.
