Taylor's P.O.V..

The look on my dad's face as I looked between both him and my mother, already told me that he had no clue why she was here.
"What are you doing here?!" I sighed angrily, stepping back from my mom as she attempted to hug me.
"Taylor. Darling, I'm obviously here to see my daughter." She stated quickly, attempting to sound sincere but I wasn't going to let her try and manipulate me.

Immediately shaking my head, I stepped to the side and walked straight past her.
"What are you doing here?" I asked again, sitting down beside my dad. "No more lies.. Tell me the real reason." I added, knowing that she would only give the same reason again.
"Fine." My mom groaned. "I just thought I'd pop in to see you, on my way to pick up James." She chuckled, knowing exactly how I would feel about it.

Even though I felt my whole body tense, I managed to nod my head and pretend like it didn't bother me.
"Remember him? He, for some strange reason still wants you." My mom stated, walking towards me. "I'm here to make sure that happens." She added in barely a whisper, right beside my ear for only me to hear.

I didn't have time to react as the sofa shifted beside me and my dad stood to his feet.
"Rachel, don't do this." He said calmly, shifting so he was standing between both my mother and I. "That's our daughter, Don't speak to her like that!" He added, making her step back from him.
"Daughter?" My mom scoffed. "You have no right to call her your daughter. You were never around." She then added, glaring at me and rolling her eyes.

Before my dad could even respond, I found myself getting up from my seat.
"And who's fault is that?" I asked sarcastically, stepping around my dad so I could face my mom. "Yours." I added, my voice raising slightly. I didn't know where this sudden confidence was coming from but it seemed to be working as my mom, slowly stepped back.

There was so much I wanted to say. I wanted to just shout and scream everything at her but, I decided against it.
"Now if you don't mind.. I've got plans." I stated, walking towards the door. Pulling it towards me, I felt her slowly pass by and then stop in front of me.
"Don't you dare speak to me like that again. I'm still your mother." She growled, lifting her hand.

Closing my eyes tightly, I flinched back just waiting for the impact on my face. After a couple of seconds, I peeled my eyes open and immediately noticed Norman's body in front of me.
"I think you should leave." Norman's calm voice stated, leaving my mom's hand go before turning around to face me.

Without a word, Norman arms slowly wrapped around my waist and he gently pulled me closer.
"I'm okay.." I whispered, pushing him back slightly with a gentle smile. "Honestly." I added, reassuring him as I kissed his cheek softly.
"Umm, can you just go and sit with Mingus.. I just want to speak to your dad." He said quietly, looking behind me through the door.

I glanced back at my dad and I knew that I should probably just go along with it, so I made my way in to Norman's apartment.
"Hey Bud.." I greeted, dropping down beside Mingus on the couch.
"Wanna Game?" He questioned, giving me a cheeky grin. Without a word I took the controller and gave him a sly smile.

Both Mingus and I got so lost in the game and trying to beat each other, that neither of us noticed Norman come back.
"Your dad is going out for a ride.. You didn't tell me he had a bike?" Norman quizzed, dropping down beside me on the sofa.
"What?" I asked with confusion. "I didn't know myself." I added quietly, losing concentration on the game me and Mingus had going.

Passing the controller to Norman, I got up and made my way to my apartment.
"Dad?" I called, slipping in through the door.
"In here." A muffled voice answered from my bedroom. "I guess Norman told you I was going out?" He asked, popping his head around the door.
