"I was like a lost moon— my planet destroyed in some cataclysmic, disaster-movie scenario of desolation that continued, nevertheless, to circle in a tight little orbit around the empty space left behind, ignoring the laws of gravity." - New Moon, Stephenie Meyer.

How could life be so intense yet so mundane at the same time?

It felt so odd to be fighting with someone you considered to be your whole universe. It was even more odd to start seeing them in a different light, not as perfect as you always thought them to be.

You were almost beginning to feel paranoid, like everyone in the tower was watching you.

Stolen lonely glances from Steve and Bucky, unsure of what to do or say to you.

Troubled glances from Nat and Clint.

Your dad who wouldn't even spare you a word.

Loki who always seemed to be looking at you; you always caught him staring but he never looked away.

Wanda, Sam, Bruce, Rhodey, Vision and Strange were someone together 'Thanos hunting'.

And then there was Peter; the boy who wished you knew how much he cared about you.

It was around 2:30 am, you were fast asleep with the tv playing quietly in the background. He climbed up to your patio, and silently slid open the glass door, easily sliding in your room.

"Hey." he whispered, slowly shaking you awake.

"Hm?" you said, not coherent.

"It's Peter." he said, like he had done this a million times.

"What are you doing here?" you asked, eyes still closed.

"I...." he still wasn't sure. "I wanted to talk to you."

You silently lifted up the blanket, letting him crawl in next to you. This was normal for the two of you, cuddling and holding each other.

"Please don't fall back asleep." he said anxiously.

"I'm awake Pete." you assured him.

"It's been a while since we've caught up." Peter was nervous, and he didn't know why.

You sighed. "I know. Life has been kinda crazy lately."

"I just... I wanted to make sure you were okay." he fiddled with his fingers.

"I'm okay." you lied. "Are... you okay?"

"Yeah, i've just been kind of worried about you. I heard what happened with Mr- your dad." he tumbled over his words.

"Oh. Yeah. Well i'm over it now to be honest." that was only a half lie.

"Well it still wasn't right for him to say those nasty things to you."

"...Thank you, Peter. I know you you look up to him a lot."

He gave your hand a reassuring squeeze.

"So um... you and Mr. Barnes?" he asked.

"Well... no. But kind of. I don't really know, to be honest. But... also Steve. Maybe." you had very mixed emotions.

"Sounds draining. Are you going to pick one?"

"I don't think it's a matter of picking really. To be completely honest i've been avoiding both of them."

"Hm... if i were you... I would probably go with Mr. Barnes." he played with his fingers.

"Oh really?" you laughed.
