GIGI PIERCE is considered a kook in the outer banks. she lives on the figure eight, she could have everything she ever dreamed of in the palm of her hand. gigi lived the typical kook lifestyle with her friends. she could be called a kook princess, but doesn't consider herself one. as much as people think she does, she does not have the "perfect" kook life.

JJ MAYBANK is considered a pouge in the outer banks. he lives on the cut, which happens the complete opposite of the figure eight. despite this, jj still lives his best life with his friends. he is obviously not a fan of the kooks, the pouges and the kooks do not get along. he can't stand them— except for one in particular.

THE TWO polar opposites share a secret. they have been seeing each other. no one on the island knows this— except for jj's best friend, john b— and they believe it has to stay that way. but, when things on the island get weird and their world is flipped upside down, their relationship is put to the test. when jj maybank knocks on gigi's door with the adventure of a lifetime, she just can't resist.
