The pair staggered back to Suga's apartment straight afterwards, far too tired to meet restaurant behaviour expectations. Daichi lay on the futon, staring out at the blackness of the sky, lulled into an even drowsier state by a humming in the background, as the microwave heated up their instant ramen.
"Sorry it's the cheap stuff - I'm so broke - I had no idea how much rent would cost," Suga called from the kitchen.
"No worries. It'll taste better 'cause we're so hungry anyway."
"Great, it'll be ready in two minutes. Which broth d'you want - kotteri or assari?"
"Either is fine," he replied.
"Cool, I'll have the assari, but we can swap over or share them if you want." Share. Daichi remembered the thing he had been meaning to ask Suga before Tadeo's death. He had put it out of his mind - it would have been completely insensitive to ask him when he was in a state so driven by negative emotion.
"Suga?" Daichi called to the kitchen - which, considering the size of Suga's single apartment, wasn't far at all. "I've got a question."
"Hmm?" His boyfriend turned to face him, two pairs of chopsticks in his hands.
"Well, I..." Daichi felt himself about to stutter, so he took a deep breath, starting again. "I was thinking. What about if I moved in with you?"
Suga's pause felt like forever, but then his face split into a wide smile. "It would be easier for sure - and give your parents a break, too."
"And it would be cheaper for you to share the rent," Daichi pointed out, excited over how quickly Suga had welcomed the idea.
"And cleaner," Suga added.
"Cleaner?"
"Yeah - I only clean when I know someone's coming over. Knowing you, you'd want it spotless all the time."
"Of course I'd clean, and I'd help you with the cooking too."
"Great - that's settled. You can move in over the summer holidays, so there's time to sort your stuff out." Suga joined him on the futon, handing him a cardboard cup of ramen.
They both slurped in silence for a moment. Feeling a little restless, Daichi wrapped his legs around Suga's waist, as his boyfriend used his chest as a recliner, both of them leaning back against the cushions as they ate. They occasionally ate off each other's chopsticks to try the two different flavours.
Daichi hummed as he ran his fingers subconsciously through Suga's hair, the rich broth of the noodles coating his tongue as he ate slowly. He couldn't wait for every day to be just like this one.
Daichi was jostled as a beep came from Suga's jean pocket. "Haha, look at this!" Suga clicked on the notification to open it.
"Huh?" Daichi peered over Suga's screen, which he was grinning at. He smiled at the picture.
Oikawa had his arm wrapped around Iwaizumi, pressing a kiss to his cheek, whilst the latter blushed furiously. Daichi could practically hear Iwaizumi's grumbling through the screen, although he didn't appear too begrudging, as he held two iced teas in one hand, whilst the other arm was wrapped around Oikawa's waist.
Thanks for the advice, Suga-chan! Oikawa captioned the photograph.
"You gave him advice? When?"
"On the day we got together in Minato. He took me away for a chat which resulted in his 'feeling of awakening'," Suga replied with a snigger.
"I spoke to Iwaizumi too - he seemed in a bad state." Daichi reflected on that day, how he had reminded Iwaizumi to make more of an effort. "I guess at least one of them listened to us."
"We give great advice," Suga said pointedly, taking their finished ramen pots and placing them on the side table.
"Yeah," Daichi replied absentmindedly, feeling himself zone out.
"We make great decisions too. Ah, look at us - so grown up." Suga chuckled. He then abruptly pulled Daichi closer, which snapped him back to attention. Even now, Daichi felt his heartbeat quicken as he read his boyfriend's wolfish grin, knowing exactly what he was thinking. "And - if we're sharing an apartment - we get a lot more... alone time."
Daichi chuckled, tackling Suga down onto the futon. "True," he grinned down at the flushed face, surrounded by a mess of hair, and he couldn't stop himself from leaning down and pressing kisses to his boyfriend's jaw and chin. "We don't have to worry about our parents either."
"Oh god that was embarrassing," Daichi felt Suga's cheeks heat up underneath his lips. "I had no idea Sawamura-san worked half-hours on Saturdays."
They both chuckled, and Daichi could feel the thrum of Suga's voicebox against his mouth, their warm breath clouding together. "I mean... they're not here right now," he suggested tentatively, nudging Suga's neck and collarbone with his nose and breathing in the smell of his aftershave.
"You don't even have to ask," Suga replied. "But I like that you do. You're still so thoughtful." Daichi gasped slightly as his boyfriend's cold hands snagged on the bottom of his shirt, pulling it up and winding around his chest. "Mmh, you've been working out more, haven't you? I can feel your abs."
"Koushi!" Daichi huffed, half-heartedly tugging his shirt down.
"Oh, it's Koushi now, is it?" Suga's tone was teasing as he pulled Daichi's shirt off. Daichi groaned. There was no stopping Suga when he was in a chaotic mood. Or in any... other type of mood. He would just have to roll with it. Not that he minded in the slightest.
Daichi slowly removed Suga's shirt in turn, who hummed contentedly from underneath him, as Daichi trailed a hand from his boyfriend's pale collarbones jutting out from his chest, down past his waist and settling on his lower abdomen. Suga's skin was hot to the touch, warmed up by their shared body heat. Daichi rested his hands either side of Suga's head, staring intently into his hazel eyes, leaning down and kissing the mole on his cheek before finally joining their lips together in a succession of slow, lazy kisses, which left them both slightly out of breath.
"Dai~" he heard Suga's gentle plea, and Daichi knew he couldn't keep teasing him much longer before he gave in. He attempted to tangle his legs with Suga's, but stumbled slightly, losing his balance and grabbing onto his boyfriend to keep himself from slipping off the cushions.
"You want to do this where you're not falling off the futon?" Suga suggested, wiggling his brows and locking their lips together again, leaving Daichi a slave to whatever his boyfriend wanted.
Daichi laughed throatily into his boyfriend's mouth, snaking his arms around Suga's body. "Mmh," he murmured in assent, using his grip to stand them both up. They didn't break the kiss until they entered Suga's bedroom...
