Epilogue
A few years later...
"Hurry up, Bakageyama, we're gonna be late!"
"Boke! Let me tie my laces first before you run off!"
"Too bad-" Hinata said. Kageyama glanced up to find him poking his tongue out and smirking. "The bus won't wait for you either~!"
"It's your fault for turning off the alarm instead of putting it on snooze - you know I need it to wake up. Not everyone has an insanely accurate body clock!"
"Aww poor Bakageyama," Hinata's voice sounded anything but sympathetic. Kageyama grunted, finishing his first lace. "Heh, I'll do that - you get your jacket on." He knelt down, much to Kageyama's surprise, tying up his other shoelace as Kageyama wriggled his arms into his jacket sleeves. "This feels like it could be a proposal," Hinata continued with a snicker.
"Oi~!" Kageyama's face flooded with heat at the spiker's words, and the fact that his voice had wavered slightly.
"Ah, too soon for jokes like that? Another day then." Hinata winked, a toothy grin shining from his features. "Well, that's all tied up. We still have a whole five minutes before the coach's departure!"
"Five minutes?!" Kageyama checked his watch. Kuso! His boyfriend was right. "It's a fifteen minute walk!"
"But a four minute sprint - race you!" Hinata bolted off into the five am sunrise, his hair set alight by the first streaks of light. Kageyama whipped around, locking the door in record speed.
"Hey - you had a head start!" Kageyama raced after his spiker.
By the time they had reached the pickup spot, Kageyama had caught up with Hinata, and tackled him by the waist with a victorious smirk, pulling his boyfriend back into his chest so that they touched the stop at the same time.
"Hey! Cheat..." Hinata grumbled. Kageyama chuckled, hugging him closer and burying his face into the warm corner of Hinata's neck. It was mid-July, yet the mornings were still crisp and required a sweater until the sun had fully risen.
"Hmmm," Hinata hummed contentedly. However, it didn't last long, as he tackled Kageyama back, pinning him to the wall of a nearby building. "Gotcha back!" He laughed before leaning in.
Kageyama closed the distance - it had become a lot easier once they had kissed a few times. Now, he was quite used to it in all the best ways. He knew Hinata would try to wrap his arms around his neck, and he leaned down slightly to make that task easier. He knew that Hinata liked to lean up slightly to press their lips close together, so he rested his hands on the small of the spiker's back, pulling up slightly so that they were flush up against each other, kissing slowly.
Kageyama pulled away slightly, ignoring the slight sigh Hinata let out as he kissed his jawline, then down to his neck. He was about to reach to push Hinata's hair back out of his eyes when-
"Hey, hey, hey, lovebirds!" The pair spun around in unison.
"Bokuto-san!" Kageyama jolted as Hinata ran out of his arms and jumped on the ace.
"Ready for training?" Yaku-kun said from behind the large ace. Kageyama had almost not seen his lithe figure hiding from behind the bulk of Bokuto's muscles.
"Yeah - our Olympic team will be the best!" Hinata high-fived the libero, and they both cheered. Kageyama's lips curled upwards of their own volition, and he picked up both of their bags and threw them into the luggage box at the bottom of the coach.
"Ooh it's so fancy - look!" Hinata said as they stepped inside.
"I've been in fancier coaches," Kageyama challenged, raising a brow at the perfectly average bus. Trust Hinata's ever-present optimism to make a coach seem like a limousine.
