More than friends

Part 2

There's something nobody knows except Paddy and that's that I get panic attacks which was what was happening rn and he's the only one that can help me through them, nobody else knows because I've never had one in front of my family (including Paddy's)
Once I had calmed down Paddy drove me home and and went inside to talk to mum but as soon as I walked into the living room I could hear unfamiliar voices, I ran through and mum was there kissing this strange guy in the kitchen, my jaw dropped.
"Really mum you have got to be kidding me"
She swivels around quickly on her feet and surprisingly her face lights up "Oh honey I would like you to meet my boyfriend, Daniel and how's dad doing have you been to see him?"
"He's dead and did you really think this was appropriate time to introduce me to your new play toy" I shout in her face. Then Daniel steps forward and gives me a look as he says "Don't speak to your mother like that"
"You have known me for a matter of minutes so maybe you should shut your mouth"
"LAVINIA" my mum heels at the top of her lungs "GET OUT OF MY HOUSE AND I DONT WANT TO SEE YOU AGAIN"
"FINE but Callie is coming with me" I storm up the stairs and pack everything I need and love i can fit in my duffel bag and do the same for Callie, she's still sleeping surprisingly after all the shouting. Me and Callie have always got along great but she wouldn't survive without me, I am nighttime cuddles and breakfast in bed and her one person that she can rely on so I am NOT leaving her behind. I shake her gently to wake her up, she's only 5. She moans as I try to get her out of bed so I just lift her up and carry her downstairs while Paddy gets the bags. Once we are out of the door Paddy asks "Do you want to stay at ours for a bit until we find a solution, it's nearly Christmas and I'm sure Callie would love it"
I smile at him and say "Sounds great but I just want to check with Nikki first.
He laughs because he's knows I don't have to ask since Nikki is like a second Mum to me.
Once we get back I put Callie in Paddy's bed and we go downstairs to talk to the other Holland's. I grab Paddy's hand before we go downstairs and say "I don't want your family to feel pressure to help us because I know your all so busy"
"Hey... don't say that your like family to  me and I will do anything to help you"
Paddy let's go of my hand and it leaves me feeling empty, how could I have fallen for my best friend? I think to myself. We head downstairs and The whole family is there and I feel a bit queasy but I start to explain "My dad passed away earlier today and..." I start to feel tears prick at my eyes but Paddy comforts me "my mum kicked me out so I didn't want Callie to have to stay so now we both have no home" I burst out into tears and Nikki rushes over and embraces me. "Hush hush you can stay here hunny you've always been like the daughter I've never had so you can make this your home and I am beyond sorry about your dad, he really was a good man" and "a great golfer too" Dom adds. I laugh at the image of me and Paddy 5 years old and being our dads golf buddies at the weekends when our mums would go for coffee or shopping but I never went with them, it was always Paddy I was with......
