Cassie dug through the big black garbage bags in her room until she found something party appropriate.
She slipped on a band t-shirt, black skater skirt and laced up her Doc Martens. She then sat in front of her vanity and smoked out her almond shaped eyes in black eyeshadow and liner. Cassie pulled out her hair and let it fall in loose waves around her back. With one last quick glance at herself in the mirror she walked out of the door of the house.

Cassie chose to walk over to Emma's since it was close, a few weeks ago it wouldn't have been possible since Cassie had lived in a completely different town with her grandmother while her mom was in rehab. But now that she lived with her mother again Emma's house was significantly closer. By the time Cassie reached Emma's house it had started to drizzle, raindrops clung to her hair.
Emma burst out of the door in a ball of color and glitter "yay you actually showed up!, I thought I was going to end up going alone." Emma exclaimed excitedly, Emma quickly pulled Cassie into a bone crushing hug. "Hey Em." Cassie laughed "You know you're my best friend and I love you dearly but you're kind of crushing my rib cage"
"Ooo sorry my bad" Emma said as she half dragged half pushed Cassie to her car, Cassie liked to refer to it as the "Hello Kitty mobile" because it was painted pink and had Hello Kitty stickers plastered all over it along with a few Sailor Moon stickers.
"So what's the big hurry?" Cassie questioned as she was being shoved into the passenger seat. "Nick!" Emma screamed, Cassie just laughed, Emma always found a boy to obsess over. Once in the car, Cassie rolled down the window and tried to light up a cigarette but to no avail with the wind whipping her hair in her face. Emma made an exasperated noise "Those things will kill you, you know."
"I know." Cassie slid her Zippo into her boot.

They arrived at Nick's house 20 minutes later because of traffic. Nick lived in an old three story Victorian with peeling paint. Emma pulled up her obnoxiously pink car to the side of the curb. Cassie threw her black leather jacket over her head to shield herself from the rain, as she was walking up the steps into Nick's house she saw a shadow of a boy and shivered. He was watching her. She decided that the next time she saw him she would confront him.
