In the grassy field of Can Tho, Vietnam, A young Chinese woman by the name of Ming-Mei laid comfortably looking up at the shiny sky beside a younger girl who was born and raised in Can Tho named Giang Huang. Together, they two sat enjoying each other's company and the view above.
"You always get views like this, kid? Ming-Mei asked the young Giang. "Because if so, I may end up staying here longer than I thought."
"Of course," The young Vietnamese girl said. "It's like this almost everyday!"
"That's not bad," Ming-Mei said. "We should probably get you back home."
"No," Giang pleaded. "I want to stay a little longer!"

The argument didn't last long because eventually the two were approaching the home Giang lived in with her father.
"Where did you two go this time?" Mr. Huang asked while in the process of cooking dinner.
"We went in the grass," Giang expressed herself very happily. "And there were no demons in sight!"
"I'm pretty sure they wouldn't dare mess with me." Ming-Mei said proudly.

Mr. Huang had finished dinner and had invited Ming-Mei to stay and eat with them. She agreed to it since she loved being around Giang.
At the dinner table, the discussion of any recent demon sightings came up. Ming-Mei knew of a location where they spent a lot of time. She was planning on heading there to take them out before they decided to come to Can Tho.
"Ha Long Bay?" Mr. Huang asked in a shocked manner. "That's dreadfully far from here. You'd have to back up. What if you get killed?"
"No need to worry about me Mr. Huang," Ming-Mei said confidently.
"Ming, I'm sorry to worry about your safety. You gave your life away so many times. I fear that doing this with so little back up could lead to your death." Mr. Huang said frightfully.
"Exactly! Which is why you should let me join you!" Giang felt full of her own abilities at this moment.
"Huh?!" Mr. Huang asked. "You want to do what?"
"Ba," Giang said. "Please, Ming has been teaching me how to fight! I'm ready to fight for my people!"
"She's got a point," Ming-Mei couldn't help but realize that this was the truth. "She can fight really well. Especially with a weapon."
"Right!" Giang was very excited about Ming-Mei's approval. "Plus, we've got ma's sword!"
"So," Ming-Mei asked Mr. Huang. "What do you say?"

Mr. Huang was very displeased with the entire conversation and after dinner was finished, Ming-Mei began to leave for Ha Long Bay without Giang.
Giang had caught up to her and pleaded for her not to leave yet.
"Sorry kid," Ming-Mei said. "But your ba's words are final. You can't come with me."
"Forget him!" Giang was upset with her father for not allowing her to fight. "I want to go with you! I have to!"
Ming-Mei paused, knowing that her next decision would be very dangerous. She sighed. "Fine," Ming-Mei agreed. "If you know where your ma's sword is, we'll take off right now."
Giang became very excited about all of this and grabbed her hand. She rushed off with Ming-Mei and led her to a shed that her father owned. Giang dug up a rectangular wooden box.
"It's in there." Giang pointed at the lock keeping the box from being opened. Ming-Mei stopped up and pulled out her hand gun.
"Step aside and cover your ears." Ming-Mei ordered Giang. She did all those things and in a matter of seconds, Ming-Mei pulled the trigger that shot the lock off. It was now free to be opened and Giang couldn't believe she was finally going to see the sword her father spoke about so much. Giang walked over to the box, opened it and watched as the moonlight shone upon the long sword her mother once used to fight to fight aliens long ago. Giang grabbed it and held it for a few seconds before testing out how well she could swing it. Once she felt confident enough, she smiled.
"Let's go!" Giang felt ready to kill some demons.

The two journeyed all the way to HaLong Bay and found the demons camping around the location. "Alright kid," Ming-Mei prepared to head down the mountain and take on the demons. "You wait here and when I call you, you come down there and kill whatever comes your way, got it?"
Giang nodded. She was ready for the fight. Ming-Mei knew she could trust Giang to have her back and jumped over the mountain top to slide down toward the demons. After she hit the sandy landscape, there was no noise. No sounds of demons growling. Not even a little bit of fighting noise. It was just silent. This worried Giang as she believed Ming-Mei could be in trouble or worse. She wanted to go down there and see what was going on, but remembered Ming-Mei told her to wait for her call. But Ming-Mei could possibly be unable to make that call at the moment. All these thoughts flooded the head of Giang until she finally realized Ming-Mei called out to her. Giang didn't hesitate to jump over the mountain side and slide down toward where Ming-Mei landed.
She hit the sandy landscape, ready to fight, but what she found enraged her even more than she could have possibly known. Giang found Ming-Mei standing with the demons who looked to be ready to kill. "How could you be working with these things?" Giang asked.
"Because I'm one of them." Ming-Mei revealed the truth. "I'm not even part of your kind. This body belongs to a higher power now and so will yours if you decide to just stand down."
The demons began to approach her. Giang looked at each of them, ready to kill any one of them that got close to her.
"It's your choice," The possessed Ming-Mei said. "Live as one of us or die like your family will."
Giang then realized what those words meant. She was going to unleash an attack on Can Tho. Giang knew she couldn't let that happen. "No thanks!"
The Demonic Ming-Mei sighed and gave out a loud roar. Whatever the sound meant, all of the demons around her rushed at Giang. Giang wasn't prepared to fight them all at once but began slicing as many demons as she could. Ming-Mei was truly amazed at her speed and will power. But she couldn't let this go on forever. The demons were being killed faster than she thought.
As Giang slashed one demon down, Ming-Mei lashed at Giang and pierced her fist through Giang's upper right shoulder. Giang didn't even see this attack coming and was surprised by how much Ming-Mei held back during their training sessions.
Her body hit the sand and the pain of the wound caused Giang to let out a loud scream. Ming-Mei stood over here, feeling remorse that she had to experience this type of pain. But she knew that the amount of blood Giang was losing would end her suffering.
"Sorry kid," Ming-Mei said as she began walking past her. "You really were a sweetheart."
Ming-Mei led the demons toward Can Tho, leaving the dying Giang to bleed out in the sand.

The next day arrived and Giang was barely alive at this point. She was staring up at the sun that now shone upon her. That's when she heard footsteps approaching her. Giang tried looking to see who was coming toward her but didn't have enough energy to do that.
An older Vietnamese woman approached her. "Are you okay darling?" The older woman asked.
"I need your help." Giang said as she tried getting herself up.
The older woman lent Giang her shoulder as she lifted her up off the ground. "I'll take you back to my home so I can tend to your wound." The older woman said.
"No!" Giang was in a lot of pain. "I need you to take me to Can Tho!"
"But darling," The older woman didn't understand why someone so injured would want to do so much. "You've bled out too much. You'll be dead soon."
"I have to go to Can Tho," Giang knew what she wanted. "I have to save my people!"
