She never was one for sleep, usually at 3am her mind would think of it, the burning flame of a lighter that is.
She idolised it really, the incense that the fire gave away would ignite her senses the same way in which a spark was ignited. She thought about fire.
She thought about destruction.
She thought about the destruction that fire would bring. And maybe that was why the red haired girl saw the fire dance about the paper that she lit.
The corner of the deceased paper curled inward and turned an ashy grey, but the corners of her mouth tilted upwards into a smile.
It gave her closure knowing she could have this control, this power to destruct. She sat cross legged in the centre of her bedroom, a grey bin beside her and a stack of letters in front of her, but the weapon lay in her hands.
And one by one a match hit the box and a spark was created. She grinned.
She wasn't sure what part of the process in lighting a flame brought her pleasure, all she knew was that it reminded her she was alive. She needed fire to tell her that she wasn't a brain in a vat, she indeed was very much alive, she needed to see it dance in her eyes the same way love would.
The young girl never believed in love for she had none.
Her mind was a wasteland and the fire within destructed all.She was self-destructing.
She was talked about in school. Not because of her winsome looks, nor her intelligence. No, but of the fact that this fiery red head shared a connection with a flame.
And with such thoughts in her mind she only wanted to burn more.
She wanted to wreak havoc in a world where there was plenty. The parents of young Angeline Devon never knew that their daughter was in fact a pyromaniac.
