"WHY THE HECK WOULD YOU NOT PUT DOWN THE SALT?!"

"I DON'T KNOW, I FORGOT- AND WHY THE FUCK WOULD I PUT DOWN THE SALT ANYWAY?! IT'S FUCKING SALT!"

"STOP CUSSING- RUN-"

THUD- SCREEEEEE!!!

The massive thing slid to a stop, hitting the wall with a thud but then pushing off of it, hunting the two that ran with an evil in its eyes. It let out a screech down the corridor of the subway station, its demonic voice echoing throughout. It seeked blood.

"Dream specifically told you to put it down before it woke up! What part of that made you think NOT doing it would be a good idea?!" the first scolded the other.

"I dunno, maybe the part where he literally told me to put salt around it!?" snapped back the teen.

The teen, Sapnap, spotted a metal pole in a pile of debris as they ran into an unfinished part of the subway. He reached out to grab it, begging to god it was loose, and it was.

"George, over here!" he shouted in a panic, taking the two of them into a midsection of the tracks. There was a gated door separating two tracks, one down, one operating, but Sapnap didn't see much of an issue here. They briefly stopped at the door as it was blocking their way, the thing following way too close behind them for comfort. They could hear it approaching, it's snarls sounding more sinister, in seconds they'd be gonners.

Sapnap lifted the pole without a moment's thought and crashed open the lock on the door, swinging it open immediately.

"Better hope there's no trains coming, cause we're going-"

"What?!"

He grabbed George by the wrist without a moment's notice and yanked him through the door onto the active track. Of course, there was a speck of light at the end of the tunnel, only meaning one thing, and they both knew exactly what. Sapnap quickly shut the gate, the thing much closer than he thought and charging. "Oh crap!" he slipped, grabbing the pole again with shaky hands and jamming it into the place that the lock had been previously.

"Great! We're locked in on this side! What's your plan now?!" George jeered.

"What, wanna go back?!"

"Mind you, there's still a train Sap-"

"I'm working on it!" he panicked, looking around the place. There was a sudden thud of metal shingles and the two turned around to the gate once more, the thring directly on the other side as it began clawing its way through savagely without mercy to the old rustic metal gate. It had gotten there much faster than either of them anticipated. They could practically feel the light of the train's headlights creeping up on them and they were running out of time on both sides.

"There!" George pointed out.

There was a door that led to one of the exits of the tunnel. They're emergency exits. That would be their ticket out.

They both ran towards the door desperately, running out of time with every passing second.

"What the hell?!" Sapnap tugged on the door. "WHAT IN THE ACTUAL HELL?!"

"What?!"

"It's fucking locked!"

"WHY?!"

"I DON'T KNOW-"

Sapnap looked around for another way out, his heart pounding in his chest harder and harder as he was beginning to see less and less options. The lights were shining too bright, too close, and the metal gate was but a snip away from budging open letting that thing through.
