*It feels like I wrote this chapter 5 years later, jeez, so apologies. I'll try to upload the next ones faster, the story's not down yet!
also, when the book started, Y/N was 18 years old and a senior in high school. So now she's around 23 on her way to graduating college*
5 years later
I closed the door of my hotel room, rolling my luggage to the side of the room. I dropped off all my belongings on the table and plopped on the bed.
Last year of college and our friends decided to vacation to London "for fun". Was it beautiful? Of course. Was it necessary? Not really.
I heard a prompt knock on my door and I groaned.
"C'mon I know you're in there." Luke's voice called out.
I stood up from the bed and opened the door. Luke walked right inside. "What do you want?" I asked.
"All of us are going out to lunch." He said, looking at himself in the mirror hung on the wall.
"But we just got here." I complained.
"Don't you want to explore...?" He smiled, took a hold of my hand and started leading me out the door.
"Not particularly." I said, grabbing my wallet and phone on the way out.
"It'll be an adventure." He grinned. I finally conceded and let him lead me off. We entered the elevator and went down.
Once we reached the lobby, I saw the rest of our friend group, Josephine, Josh, Ria, and Michael, waiting.
"Finally!" Ria exclaimed and we all started walking off.
"Where are we going?" I asked, joining them.
"This place called the Lion's Den. We've heard the food there is so good." Michael explained.
"It's only a 2 minutes walk from here." Josephine added.
We walked off in the direction. The air was crisp and cool, not unlike Seattle's. Before long, we were already walking inside the restaurant. We found a table outside underneath an umbrella.
We all sat down and took a look at the menu. I was just deciding between different types of pasta when someone walked up to our table.
"How are you lot today?" It was a man wearing a lion costume. Apparently this restaurant had a mascot.
"We're good!" Some of us responded. The lion took our orders. Luke gave the lion a high five and the lion went off to the next table.
"Remember when Y/N used to talk about that talking lion?" Luke suddenly spoke. My cheeks burned and my stomach dropped. I had foolishly told my friends all about Narnia, just to get it off my chest. It seemed like a dumb decision now, since they all decided to collectively make fun of it. But back then I was desperate to have Narnia exist in some way, even if it was just a story.
"It was just a childish story-"
"I remember!" Ria interrupted. "She even had a name for him... what was it...?"
"Alan?" Micheal suggested.
"Aslan." I corrected.
"We all remember." Josephine said and everyone agreed.
"Anyways... where are you guys planning to explore here?" I asked, trying to change the conversation. I couldn't have a breakdown here.
"I want to visit the Harry Potter studio." Ria said.
