I remember that blissful yet bitter winter night my dad left my family. The day wasn't special like my birthday or anything, but somehow I kept remembering the day he last talked to me. It was the day he said his last goodbye, it was the day he walked out of my life.

"Daddy do you love me?" I asked

"Yes, Ivy." He answered.

"How much?" I asked, knowing what he was going to say.

"As many stars we have in the universe." He said smiling.

"You'll love me no matter what happens?" I questioned.

"Forever and always, sweetheart." My dad said, kissing my forehead.

"Good night, Daddy." I said while yawning.

"Goodbye, Ivy." My dad replied while he was closing my bedroom. At the time I didn't know what my dad meant when he said 'Goodbye.' This sweet night became every little girl's nightmare. The next day I lost two things: my dad and my heart.
