The next morning, I woke up to the sight of two children running. I looked closer and noticed it was my brother and I. That instant, my heart sank. I reached out my hand to touch, but when I did, both children disappeared. Then I heard a familiar voice call my name "Irene..." over and over again. After the tenth or so time that voice called my name I awoke to see Jackson with an upset face. Why? Why do you look so sad? I thought. I reached out my hand to touch his cheek, but stopped. Jackson stuck his finger out and poked underneath one of my eyes and then moved his finger away, and I noticed water on it. "Wh-what?" I said, confused. I rubbed my eyes and felt tears. "Wh-why am I crying?!" Immediately Jackson hugged me tightly. "You're missing your family aren't you?" He said in a low and calm voice. "H-how do you know that?" I asked. "You were calling out for your brother many times so I figured you'd miss him." Jackson answered. "Maybe a little." I said as quietly as I could. "Don't!" He yelled, hugging me tighter than he did when I started crying. "Ah... I... can't... breath!" I screamed, gasping for air after each word I said. "I'll show you that those people are terrible!" Jackson shouted. Then he slowly let me go. After a few minutes of calming down, he transformed back into the wolf I saw when I first met him. "Climb on, it's time to show you what your family is really like." Jackson said. "What do you mean? I know what my family is like!" I said confused. "Then this will surely surprise you!" He answered back. Curious by what he said, I climbed on Jackson's back and we left the forest. What does he know about my family that I don't? I asked myself again and again. I asked myself these questions until we reached my house. "Wait, how do you know where I lived?" I asked. "You told me two or three weeks ago, Remember?" Jackson explained "besides, what do you mean lived? This is still your home." He mumbled quietly, but it loud enough for me to hear. But I need you more than this place... I said in my head. "Look, Listen, Learn." He said, as if those words were important. So I looked through the crooked window and heard voices. I heard my mom laughing and I could hear my dad actually not yell for once. A little after that, I saw my brother laughing too. I leaned closer to the window and heard my mom say such cruel things about me, and my dad was agreeing with each insult. Worst of all, my brother kept smiling and say how happy he was that I was gone. I couldn't believe what I saw and heard. My own family hated me. They didn't care, miss, or even worry. I was all alone from the very beginning, they were just there for extras. I was about to burst into tears. I got off Jackson and headed to the door. I knelt to the ground and picked up the pocket knife dad hid from my brother behind the rose bush. I knocked on the door over and over again, each knock louder than the last. My mother opened it and when she saw me, her eyes were full of fear and surprise. "H-honey! Look who is here!" Mom said with her voice shaking. My dad approached the door, but when he saw me his eyes were full of hate. My brother was behind him and his eyes were full of anger and genuine sadness. "Time to end this pain you people have." I said, my voice sounding like a psycho. Then I lunged the knife.
