PLOT
"Per Aspera" it was part of a Latin quote she once studied with her mother during her training. She doesn't remember the rest, but after so much time, per aspera truly defines her life. It means "through hardships".
Her galaxy has been riddled with a silent war since before she was born. Her parents saw the beginning of the silent struggle, her mother was even a target of the attacks the empire didn't want anyone to hear. Her mother was one of the famed Jedi of the Republic. And Mirale Halcard trained her daughters to follow in her footsteps from the moment they could comprehend what they were doing.
Atlas Halcard had been a Jedi since she was four, she had been a part of the rebellion before she understood what a rebellion even was. And now, Atlas Halcard has a mission. A mission with the partner she got stuck with when she was still a rookie, Cassian Andor. Now they've been assigned a mission that will determine the fate of the entire galaxy.
The badass rebel with very few shreds of a personality and the Jedi with a very, very small perfectionist issue banded together through orders, arguments, and some end of the world type of shit.
EXTRA INFORMATION
— the full quote is "ad astra per aspera" which means "to the stars through hardships" — spoiler alert - they both die in the end — the Halcard family is HUGE in the rebellion. Her father is one of the head doctors and a top engineer while her mother is an intense General, Jedi, and strategist. Her sister is an up and coming Jedi and soldier for the rebellion — Atlas is three years than Kandri. Atlas started her training before Kandri did and Atlas tried extra hard knowing that her sister looked up to her — Atlas placed a lot of pressure on herself to meet every expectoration put before her. Mirale Halcard l put a lot of pressure on her, especially with the reminders that if she slipped up even a small bit she could get her team and herself killed. It was a lot of pressure for her all throughout her teenhood and early adulthood - and then Cassian Andor entered her life — Cassian Andor is a cold hearted man when Atlas and him meet. He kills often and with her Jedi trained mind she can't believe that he can do that easily — as they work together Atlas begins to understand that Cassian isn't killing recklessly. she realizes that he has regrets and that his heart is a bit more fragile than she originally thought — they end up bonding over more near death missions and flights and moments in between mission. they're a mess of people with issues and messy feelings but they care about each other and he tells her "I love you" first during a mission and she's the one who's near death and he's terrified that she won't ever know how he feels so it's a rush of emotion and they're adorable together — Atlas and Cassian are both assigned to get Jyn Erso and the mission begins. Atlas has learned how to be distrusting through Cassian (and her mother) PLUS being a Jedi means instant torture and death if she's caught — please note: Atlas' faceclaim is changeable not her name please!! ALSO - this plot is a 2part plot with Testing My Patience: Luke Skywalker being the second part (which is already out!!)
