Chapter 1- the rainbow kingdom

*Sabre's pov*
It's been a day since Light and I sidled the darkness and the sword away with everything going back to normal. The leaders gave me a house right next to the citadel as a sorry gift, although I said they had nothing to be sorry for. The house is nice but I wish I had a roommate, the leaders don't know this but I actually suffer from insomnia from all the trauma I've been through and the fact that I'm a kid but they don't know that ether the only person that knew was Rainbow Steve but he's... dead now. I don't know who else I could trust with this secret maybe that Green Steve that acts like a therapist but he might start treating me as a kid.

"Hay Sabre!"

I get brought out of thought by light.

"Oh, hay Light what is it that you need?"

"The leaders wanted me to take you to a meeting that's happening."

"Well I was getting a bit lonely so sure, show me da way!"

We go over to the citadel and walk up the way too long for there own good spiral staircase and reach a meeting room. All the leaders were there. I wonder what this meeting could be about and why I was asked to join?

"Sabre thank you for joining us take a seat, you can use the red chair for the time being" the yellow leader greeted me

"Oki Yellow! By the way, why was I called to this meeting?"

"Well sabre, we thought it would be a great idea to for you to have a say in what happens in the kingdom!" the Green leader said happily.

Giving a child a say in how a kingdom is run probably isn't a great idea but they don't know that so I'm just gonna role with it, at least I now know that they truly trust me again.

"Ok, so we all know about our food shortages right?

All the leaders give the yellow leader a nod.

"*sighs* We need to find a way to fix this shortage which is why I called this meeting."

I come up with an idea "hay I have an idea"

"Go on"the Indigo leader gives me a gesture to continue.

"What if we just make more farm land outside the walls? If we're short on food then we make more food"

"Sabre it's easier said then done"

"Yeah Green is right. We would need to get volunteers and we'll need to give them more food so they stay healthy." The Violet leader Chimed in.

"Listen I know you'd need to do that but I know there will be people who want to help and for the food problem we go on rations till we can make more. There problem solved." I say with a bit of sass at the end.

"He has a point, if we go onto rations then we could do his idea and also sabre you didn't need to be sassy then." Orange said.

"No I need ALL da sass"

"*sighs* well if you agree with this sassy boy then say 'I'."

"Well since we all agree this meeting is officially over. Next week we'll start rations"

"Bye guys thanks for inviting me to the meeting"

"Bye Sabre" all the leaders say around the same time.

*sighs* welp that meeting is over, now what to do, hmmm... Oh I could go visit Green and maybe tell him about my age. Hopefully he won't let treat me differently like I would be OK with him being more protective of me but if he starts babying me then that would be a different story, yeah I know I'm like 10 or something but I've been through enough to not act like it.

Ok I'm in front of Green's house, it's always so relaxing just being I wonder how he does it hmm... Come on Sabre stop getting distracted. I walk up to his door and knock lightly.

"Coming!" I hear him say

"Oh hay Sabes what brings you here?"

"Nothing really just got bored and thought of asking you a question" I say a bit unsure if it's a good idea.

"Sure! come inside and we can talk."

We walk in his wonderful house, it always feels homely and welcoming. The more I think about my secret the more I feel comfortable tell my green coloured friend.

"So what did you want to talk about?"

"Before I tell you please promise that you won't treat me differently" I say with some sadness seeping into my voice.

"I promise what ever it is I will never treat you differently" he gives me a warm smile.

Here goes nothing "I felt like I needed to tell someone about my true age since the only other person to know is well, dead, you were the first person to come to mind that I would trust with this knowledge. So if I tell you that I'm actually a 10 year old kid would you believe me." I feel a tear threaten to fall

"Wow that's definitely a secret you need to trust people with and I'm glad you thought of telling me. You've been through so much especially for a kid, no wonder you have insomnia." Green comes closer to me and gives me a nice warm hug that I lean into feeling more tear wanting to fall.

"Shh let it all out, I'm here " I here Green calmly say as he said that I start to feel drowsy and drift off to sleep.

*Green Steve's pov*

I feel the little bean go limp in my arms as I notice he is now fast asleep. Looks like he really needed to tell someone about that secret of his. I look down at Sabre and pick him up, taking him to my bedroom so he could get the much needed sleep he's lost so much of.
