Ch. 1 We are Venom

Ground Level

3rd Pov

10:47 P.M.

A couple exits a restaurant and decides, but they don't make it far before a common purse snatcher runs up to them and takes the woman's purse.

Woman: Hey!

Man: Stop him!

The Purse snatcher was fast but he stops dead in his tracks when Venom suddenly lands in front of him.

Thief: WHAT THE FUC...

Venom picks him up and lifts him overhead.

Thief: Who!? What are YOU!?

Venom: We are Venom.

He unhinges his jaw, and proceeds to eat the thief whole!

The young couple watches on in terror.

After the monster finished his meal he licks his teeth clean, he then proceeds to pick up the woman's purse and walk toward the young couple, who would have ran but they were scarred stiff, and couldn't move.

Venom stops right in front of them and hands out the purse to the lady.

Couple: !!!

Venom: Uh, here you go uh Ma'am.

Woman: What? Oh...uh...thank you?

She quickly takes the purse back, and they take a few steps back.

Venom: You're welcome, *burp* Oh, sorry....*Ahem* You two have a nice safe walk home...Uh *waves* Goodnight?

He web swings away onto a roof.

Eddie: We need to work on our social skills.

Venom: Well I think that went well we ate our first bad guy Eddie, this is a landmark moment in our career as The Destructive Defender...uh no The Mortal Champion? Ah, I will work on it.

Eddie: *Silently* Ugh...please don't.

Eddie: Also you cannot just eat every single criminal we come across.

Venom: I cannot? Why?

Eddie: We are both trying to be better than we were and I think that includes leaving behind a much, much, much, much, MUCH, smaller trail of bodies.

Venom: I guess that makes sense.

Eddie: Alright, I am going to hold you to that.

Venom: *sigh* Come on Eddie let us continue to protect the innocent, we can do this better than Spider-Man ever could.

They start to leap off the building and start swinging through the city.

They spot three thugs robbing a nearby jewelry store.

Venom: Bad guys!!

Venom leaps onto the ground, causing the ground to shake and the thieves turn around and look through the giant glass window, and see the black and white monstrosity on the other side of the glass.

Venom: You cannot run from the Jaws of Justice! Evil Dowers for We are Venom and We shall bring protection to this city and.

Meanwhile, the thieves look at Venom with fear and confusion as they can not hear him.

Thug 1: Does he know the glass is soundproof?

Thug 2: I don't think he does.

Thug 3: Hey uh goo, spider Grimm thing, we can not hear you!

Thug 1: Well if it can't hear us then it can't hear you dumb, dumb!

Instead, the thief waves his hands to get Venom's attention, Venom sees this and stops his "Hero" speech and looks at them curiously.

The thugs mime we can't hear you the beast.

Venom feeling very embarrassed uses a tendril to shatter the soundproof glass separating them.

Venom: Can you hear us now?

Thug 1: Oh yeah that's a lot better.

Venom: Thank you.

Thug 3: Who...what are you?

Venom: Looooooooooooooooong story.

Thug 2: Do you want to have a do-over on that little hero speech?

Venom: ...No

Thug 2: You just want to fight.

Venom: ...yeah...

Thug 3: Ok then.

they all shoot their shotguns at Venom, it, of course, has no effect, and Venom easily takes them all out using his tendrils to web them to the wall.

Venom walks to the old shopkeep who remained silent this whole time, with his head held low.

Venom: I worked on that speech for hours.

Eddie: I don't think they were missing much.

Venom: Oh shut up ed.

Venom goes to the counter.

Venom: Are you alright brave shopkeep?

Old Man shopkeep: Uh, are you going to pay for that? *Points to glass*

Venom: Uh.......................bye!!

Venom runs out of there and swings away as fast as he can.

Venom: It's probably not that expensive to replace right Eddie?

Eddie: let's assume it's not.

Venom: Alright.

Eddie: Okay we can patrol for a few more hours then we should get back home, we have a few kinks to work out when it comes to this superhero thing.

Venom: Okay.

Venom: Oh, by the way, Eddie I have a question about that, if we live in a motel and we paid to stay there for a week right?

Eddie: Yeah.

Venom: So what happens after that?

Eddie: Oh...I guess I haven't really thought about that, I suppose we have to find a job preferably entry level

Venom: No offense Eddie but I highly doubt that there looking to hire an old washed-up reporter.

Eddie: Hey middle-aged at best, and I am sure I can find something.

3 hours later

Motel Room

Eddie walks back and forth while on the phone.

Eddie: *On the Phone* It's fine I understand.

He hangs up.

Venom: No luck huh?

Eddie: *Sigh* Well that's the 7th job rejection in a row, well back to the help wanted section.

He sits down at a desk where there is a newspaper opened to the want ads, 15 jobs are listed six are crossed out, until Eddie takes a pen and crosses out another one. He looks at the next one and it reads.
