Chapter 19: TEST

A couple of months later.

Taehyung's P.O.V.

"Jeonha, Georyon province is down. They are now greatly affected by the war. We have evacuated the area and moved the residents to Heongyo."

I said calmly as I show the King at the big map on the table the area that has been vacated. We are now having a meeting, along with my father, the Minister of Defence, and the other high officials of the army.

Though my father has been in the position for decades, King Yoongi follows my advice more and makes decisions based on my recommendations. I guess we both have the same thinking on how to run and win the war. That is maybe why I quickly earned his trust.

"So Georyon has fallen? Did they take over it??"

"No, Jeonha. They can never enter us, please do not worry. It is just not safe for the residents to stay there anymore so we vacated it. We made the land a place for the fallen soldiers to get treated..

Some residents volunteered to help take care of the soldiers while they heal and until they go back to field. Jin also said he will come to aid--"

"Seokjin??"

"Yea, Jeonha. Dr. Seokjin, I mean."

As expected, his mood changed at the mention of the name of my love.

"No. Seokjin will stay at the palace. Do not drag him into war." The King said firmly.

"He won't go to war, Jeonha. He will only treat the wounded soldiers." I reasoned out.

At first, I told Jin I am against the idea. But knowing him, he is as stubborn as this King in front of me.

Jin said that it is his sense of duty to the Kingdom and his way of protecting the people, like I do. So eventually, I agreed to him. I would only have to make sure he is safe when he goes out there.

"You, yourself, said that the place isn't safe anymore for the residents. Then why would you drag Seokjin there?!"

"But Jeonha--"

"No more but's. He will stay in the palace where he is needed more."

"I understand, Jeonha." Why did I even think I will win this conversation?

"Tell me Gen. Kim, how do we end this? I know we are close to victory. But I can't wait further." The King sat and leaned his back on the throne.

"Please give me at least 10 more days, Jeonha. I am planning an ambush. But I need time to prepare my troops."

I know he is getting impatient as our agricultural products are getting affected by the war. The people in the outskirts of the Kingdom are starving now because of shortage of crops. And he is having a hard time to solve the problem.

Once we get ahold of Baekje, we can take all the fruits and crops of their lands and provide it to our people. Hence, the King wants to get this done fast.

"We'll join the ambush troop then. Plan it carefully and let me and Chief Namjoon know."

My eyes widen at what the King has said. I did not expect he wants to take part in the war by fighting in the field. I was searching for words to say when I heard father spoke,

"Jeonha, I do not think it is necessary for you or my son- I mean, Gen. Kim to join the ambush. We can win this war without you or the General going on field."

"Minister Kim, this will be the General's first victory in war. Of course, it would be necessary for him to join his soldiers. You have done the same before with my father, haven't you? Therefore, it would be just proper that we win and ride out on this war together. What do you think Gen. Kim?"
