When you're from District 2, all you have to do is wake up, eat, go to school, train, eat & sleep. We don't do much. We live to train and we die for our district.

But then, I saw Clove. She-- She's different. If ever I'm gonna be a tribute, I want her to be the other. I'm not complaining about the other girls but she's just too extraordinary. Her hair tied up in a pony tail falls gently behind her neck. Her dark brown eyes looks like she's not afraid of anything. And her smile ... Her wonderful smile can blow your mind away.

This was the first time that I felt like this. It was quite 'weird' that I'm in love with somebody I just met. Wait, did I just say that? This doesn't sound like Cato. This is more likely my soft side. The side nobody dares to see.

I took a deep breath and walked in. Nothing changed, really. As I go inside my new class, I saw Clove. She was there sitting at the back of the room, near the window. I walk towards her and she looked at me. "Cato, right? I never knew you were in this class." "That means, you didn't read the list posted near the door." I replied. She laughed a bit then her face went serious. "I also saw you once in training. You're pretty good with javelins." I can't help but blush. "And I know you're good with knives." She nodded. She always hits the target. And when she opens her jacket, you'll see a lot of knives. I repeat, A LOT.

For this day, I was just hanging out with Clove. Talking about the past games, arena techniques and how to survive. I just noticed that she's fun to be with. She would sometimes oppose but then, she laughs at her mistakes. We also noticed the capitol accent and the way they dress. We just find it awkward.

"See you tomorrow, Cato." She waved. "Bye, Clove." I waved back. I waited until she was completely gone then, I also went home.

As I put my bag on the floor, I immediately lay down and just stare at the ceiling. I was still thinking about her. I can't stop. My mom walked in without even knocking. " So, I see. You met Clove." I quickly looked at her. "How did you know?" She smiled and looked at me. "I know her mom. Clove told her all about her day. Do you like her?--" "No. I-I dont. Mom, stop it." I can't help but feel annoyed. I stood up and went out of the room. "She's also a career." She added. "I know." "Cato, Is this friendship of yours just for the games again?" I stopped.

"No, mom. This isn't for the games anymore. I'm learning to trust someone now. And I trust Clove .... " "With your life, son?" She asked.

"Yes. I trust her with my life."
