Lost Hope
Outside the Butterfly Estate,
The Mist Pillar stood, his left arm clutched closely to his chest. Round eyes filled with glittering hope, he stepped into the doorway and shuffled through the winding halls. Paying no attention to the kakushi bustling around him, he strode forward with tunnel vision.
Finally arriving at a familiar room, he released his grip on his arm and used his working hand to slowly slide open the door.
As his green eyes landed on the only person in the room, the hope in his eyes diminished. Not so subtly, a look of dissatisfaction took place on his features.
"I... got hurt... in a mission. Where is Y/N?"
The Insect Pillar looked up from her task to glance at the stiff figure standing in the doorway. Shinobu sighed and put the bottle down with a look of pity on her face. Under her sympathetic gaze, Muichiro felt annoyed and impatient.
"Tokito-san. I believe this may be the third time you've come here this week. Unfortunately, Y/N isn't here."
Upon hearing her, his arm dropped. The sudden stretch of his skin caused a stinging pain to spread around the area of a deep laceration.
Shinobu's observant eyes caught the subtle twitch of his eyebrow caused by his own sudden movement. Remembering the red patches staining his clothing, her eyebrows furrowed.
Shinobu walked around the table towards the injured Mist Pillar. Gentle hands reached out towards his arm but Muichiro cautiously stepped back.
"Stop being stubborn, Tokito-san. Let me treat your wounds."
"No thank you. I'll wait for Y/N."
The Insect Pillar's purple eyes scanned the several untreated wounds that littered his body. Some cuts were scabbed over, others pink and fresh. However, the large ones were the most eye catching. They were swelling and bright red,with dark pus seeping out the cuts.
