Storybrooke
The characteristic sound that the bell makes when the door is opened, caught the attention of the two men that were inside the store, and looked up to meet the visitors.
"Dad! " The ten-year-old boy with brown hair ran towards the man who received him with open arms.
"Hey, how are you? " He ruffled the hair of his son, whom he had known and known to exist only two and a half weeks ago and still couldn't believe he was a father.
"Good." He broke away from the man and looked up, meeting Mr. Gold, or Rumplestiltskin, watching him from his position behind the counter.
"Neal." Emma greeted him, tucking her thumbs into the front pockets of her jeans, as she always did when she felt nervous or uncomfortable, this time she couldn't decide which of the two she was.
"Emma." He returned the greeting, smiling softly, a smile that conveyed many things, from pain and suffering for everything he did to the blonde, to the words 'I'm sorry' that he still didn't dare to say out loud because they hadn't been alone or had time to have that conversation, and when they met in New York after ten years, all they did was argue irrationally, Emma because her resentment had been stoked the moment she saw him, and him, because the blonde hadn't told him from the beginning that they had a child.
"Mr. Gold." Henry greeted his newly discovered paternal grandfather, still not feeling confident enough to call him because of his kinship with him.
"Gold, it's been half a month since I went with you to the Big Apple to help you find your son, and I even gave you time to talk, and catch up on all the lost years. But now I need you to help me and Henry to find Regina. That was the deal we had." Emma spoke, putting aside the static position she was in as soon as she entered the store, and adopting a more secure position and taking a few steps in front of her.
"Oh, yes, of course." Gold replied, putting what he was doing on the counter, and motioned with his right hand for them to follow him to the back of the store.
Neal, Emma and Henry watched as the Dark One opened a closet, taking out a white sphere, with a needle on top.
"Well, this generally works when the blood from someone who is biologically related to the person we're looking for, is dropped on it. I explained it to you before we went looking for Neal. Since we don't have someone biologically related to Regina, I will have to opt for Cora's blood that I have stored." He put the sphere on a small table, and went back to the closet, taking out a small vial that contained a red liquid, blood.
"Cora? Who's Cora? " Asked Henry.
"Regina's mother, your grandmother, and someone you should never cross paths with." The specter answered, fixing his gaze on his grandson.
"I didn't know my mom had a mother."
"Well. Someone had to bring her into this world, right? " Sarcasm could be heard perfectly in the centennial's voice. "And there are many things that aren't in the book that Snow White gave you."
After the words said by the Dark One, there was a silence in which he dedicated himself to opening with his index and middle fingers, the small vial containing the red liquid, and then pouring it into the sphere, creating a red stain that spread across the white surface, running through it until it focused on a point, creating a shape that gradually became clearer, it looked like some kind of territory, like those that were drawn on maps, but this didn't have any proportion equal to those that existed on Earth, at least not from this world, and only Gold could recognize the place.
