6 Months Later...

The phone rang on the desk next to Aphmau's hospital bed.

Huh, thought Aphmau. I wonder who that is...

She stood up, leaving her half-packed suitcase on the floor.

She picked up her phone. It was Melissa.

She answered and put the phone to her ear. "Hello?"

"Hey Aphmau! I need to talk to you for a second!" Melissa chimed.

"Oh sure! Go ahead."

"So... lately, Aaron has been remembering someone... someone who seems to be special to him. He can't stop talking about her."

Aphmau gulped. While she was glad that Aaron remembered something, she didn't want to lose Aaron. Nowadays, he was all she thought about. "Who is it?" she asked.

"Well I don't know!" Melissa replied. "Her name is Shu, or something like that."

Aphmau stayed silent as her eyes grew wide. She knew exactly who Shu was. She knew who Aaron remembered. Her growing excitement was almost too much to bear.

"Aphmau?" Melissa said, concerned. "Aphmau!"

"Melissa! I-I'm Shu!" Aphmau said, excitedly.

"W-what!?"

"Remember when I told you that me and Aaron met online? Well, back then, I called him FC, and he called me Shu!" Aphmau explained in a hurry. "Now that you've told me this, I know he still remembers me, at least in some way."

"Yes! Aphmau, you have no idea how happy I am!" Melissa exclaimed. "For the past few months, I've been trying everything in my power to find Shu. It hurt me to think that I was finding another girl for him. I never wanted to hurt you, but I knew you just wanted him to be happy," she said sadly.

"Aww, I know. It's okay, Melissa," Aphmau encouraged.

"But now that I know that you're Shu, I'm so happy for you and Aaron! Oh, and before I forget, I need to tell you something. Aaron tried calling the contact he had for Shu, but it didn't work. I don't know why. The call would just be sent to voicemail," Melissa explained.

"Oh! That's because they had to take my phone so it wouldn't conflict with the equipment here. I'm only allowed to use the hospital phone on my bedside." Aphmau said.

"Well, don't worry about that. What you need to remember is that Aaron is still in love with you," Melissa said, encouragingly. "Next time you meet him, we'll have you introduce yourself as Shu. He'll be so thrilled!"

Aphmau chuckled happily. "I'm glad he remembers me. I would love to see him very soon. Thankfully, the GF are letting me and Travis go home today, so it won't be long until we next meet. Oh, and one more question... how are Aaron's burns?"

"They're slowly getting better. He's starting to look more and more like our Aaron. Although, I wish he remembered things like the old Aaron did. Not to mention, I wish he could see the faces of those who love him," Melissa trailed off.

Aphmau was quiet as she heard Melissa sniffle a little. "Yeah, I know what you mean," Aphmau said, gently.

Once Melissa found control of herself, she proceeded to encourage Aphmau. "But, maybe this will all be better one day. I still have hope."

Aphmau chuckled again. "Me too, Melissa. I'm heading back to our street soon. Let's plan a time to meet, okay?"

"Okay! Get home safe!" Melissa exclaimed.

Aphmau hung up the phone and put it back on the desk. She then went back to the suitcase, continuing to pack. As she packed, a smile spread across her face as a tear ran down her cheek.

He actually remembered me, she thought. I can't believe it!

Once Aphmau finished packing, Travis knocked on the door.

Aphmau shut her suitcase, stood up, and turned to the doorway. "Come in!"

Travis opened the door and stood in the open doorway of her room. "Hey Aph-" He stopped, noticing the tear. "Everything okay?"

Aphmau looked at him, smiled, grabbed the handle of her suitcase, and walked towards him. "Everything is great, not-alone-buddy," she said as she elbowed him playfully.

Travis grinned. "Awesome. Now let's get home. I'm so ready to see Katelyn again." He turned and walked to the elevator with his suitcase.

Aphmau followed him into the elevator, dragging her suitcase along with her. After talking with the receptionist on the first floor, they opened the door and stepped outside together.

It was a beautiful day outside. The birds were chirping, the waves were lapping against the shore, and the trees were waving in an ocean of sky that was tinted with the colors of the sunrise.

After taking in the beautiful sights, Travis and Aphmau walked on the dock and went aboard the boat. Once everything was prepared, the boat slowly backed up, spun around, and took off.

As they sped away from Starlight, Aphmau and Travis' hearts were light. As they took in the sunrise and the crisp air morning, they were ready for a new beginning. A new change. A new hope.

Aphmau looked at Travis with a smile. "Hey Travis?" she said.

Travis looked at her, returning her smile. "Yeah?" he asked.

Aphmau nodded. "Let's go home."
