"Ohhhhh so you're not lying, you really don't know anything about him huh?" Jules slumped on her desk, face supported by her hand propped up. She was chewing on the cap of her pen as I feverishly typed away referrals and looked over proof of qualifying conditions.
"I mean why would I lie to you about that, after 2 years I'd think you'd know my body language down to a science. No point in trying to lie to you, right?"
"You're damn right about that!" she exclaimed with a slight attitude. I smirked as I continued with the massive files piled on my desk.
"Still that would make him a stalker, wouldn't it? I mean you barely know this man and he followed you to your place of work. That's pretty suspect to me Kat"
"Well he claimed he was on his way to work as well which happened to be the same route as mine"
"Yea but do you know where he works...like really know?"
I sighed and stopped typing, "now how could I really know Jules? It's not like I followed him to his place of business"
Jules wiggled her eyes then, "well maybe you should...I mean imagine the place a guy like him works"
I rolled my eyes then, "I really could care less Jules. Honestly, you're more invested in this than I am"
Just then our program director came skulking around the corner, "Is that so? I would hope you've invested in this company as well Kat. I would hate for our intake coordinator to not have passion in assisting people to receive the services they need".
"You walked in on the wrong portion of the conversation Jonathan. I was not talking about work but rather a random nobody that Jules has far too much interest in".
Jonathan was our program director and he was all about flaunting his power around to make up for the fact that he actually didn't have a life. He was always trying to push his own agenda and tried any attempt to get in a woman's pants. He oozed desperate and gave me the creeps more often than not.
"Well he looked like a starving handsome artist is all. I thought that maybe for once Kat was interested in a guy"
"Nope" I quickly chimed in.
"Well I'd be more than willing to take Kat out on a date if she'd let me" breathed Jonathan ever so grossly.
"Swift pass" I cut in before the air thickened with his lust, "I'd swear myself to celibacy before I ever let my sights set on you".
Jonathan's face seared red before he cleared his throat, "if your personal life is going to disrupt your work I suggest you don't talk at all or I'll have to change your desks".
"I'm only responding to your offer of a date sir. If you expect no personal talk, you should lead by example" I reminded him. Suck on that, dimrod.
Jonathan straightened his tie, grunted, and walked away. Jules tskked at me, "you should really watch that mouth of yours, he's management. You won't be able to get a promotion if you keep talking to him that way".
I rolled my eyes then, "Jules I think you and I already know what he'll charge us for a promotion and with that in mind I'd like to remain a desk pusher. Thanks".
Jules shuddered too before returning to her work. I couldn't wait to clock out.

When it was finally time to leave work, Jules and I stepped out together. Jules started looking around,
"And how far will your neck stretch to find what you're looking for?" I chuckled. Jules slapped my arm then,
