Chapter 10: Embracing ourselves

Choa appeared on top of her bed. Her heart was beating so fast, and suddenly the knob to her room moved. Apple had entered the room, which almost gave Choa a heart attack, "Mew, what are you doing here, how did you get here so soon? I thought you were going to the enchanted forest and that we would meet up there?" Apple asked confused. "Oh, it's nothing when you and Briar when up to the castle, I followed you guys a few seconds after. I didn't want Briar to miss out, especially after she was the one who suggested the idea." Choa said avoiding eye contact. "It's ok, Mew. You don't have to feel bad for Briar. She has been to the enchanted forest many times and besides, she just wanted you to enjoy it" Apple said warmly. "Ok, thank you, Apple. But I would feel better if Briar came with us, maybe we can go there another time?" said Choa. "Ok then, I will let Briar know. Anyway, Mew you cannot imagine what kind of day I had today!" Apple groaned and lay her head on the bed. 

"What was it like?" Choa asked curiously. "I went to help Blondie Locks with the Mirror-cast and she told me that I needed to interview people who had a musical talent for Ever After High's musical talent show which should begin in around 2 or 3 months, but Blondie's already interviewed the regulars, you know Raven, Melody, Sparrow's band and me of course. The thing is Blondie wanted to me to interview someone "raw, unique and unpredictable" but I can't seem to find anyone like that." Apple buried her head in a pillow. 

Choa sat there and thought to herself, "Wait, what if I volunteered to be interviewed on the Mirror-cast. Everyone would know my name...and I could secure a spot on the musical talent show!" "Apple, what if you interviewed me?" Choa asked shyly. Apple's head raised from the pillow quickly. "I'm listening." She said intrigued. "I love music, and it's one of my passions. I can sing pretty well, and I think I will audition for the musical talent show." Choa said more confidently. "That's great! Let's do this interview now! I can't wait to hear you sing." Apple said whipping out the official Mirror-cast equipment, she then began to point the camera at Choa. She signalled "We're rolling" to Choa and started to speak. 

"Hello everyone, and welcome back to the Mirror-cast! It's me, Apple, and today we are going to be interviewing another Ever After High student to see their musical talent! Today, I have Mew Yeongi with us and I heard from a little bird that she can sing! And here she is, Mew could you introduce yourself to the Mirror-cast?" Apple asked enthusiastically. "Hi, I'm Mew Yeongi and I just moved here from Japan. My musical talent is singing and I hope to impress all of you today at the Mirror-cast" Choa smiled. "That's awesome Mew! Do you think you can sing us something?" Apple kept the microphone steady above Choa. "Of course, let me start 3...2...1 They told you everything was waiting for you...they told you everything was set in stone..." "Wow, Mew, that was wonderful! What did you guys at the Mirror-Cast think? Mew, how did you learn to sing like that?" Apple questioned. "I have just always loved to sing, Apple. I sing all the time. Music has always felt natural to me." Choa beamed. "That's great. Do you feel like you would be interested in entering the Ever After High musical talent show?" Apple queried. "I think I will. It seems like a great opportunity." Choa smiled. "Alright, there you have it, viewers. Mew Yeongi! Auditions for the Ever After High musical talent show start in a week, so make sure to practice! Apple turned off the camera and grinned at Choa. 

"Thanks so much for this, Mew. Now I have an interview that is going to be perfect for the Mirror-cast." "It's no problem, Apple. I can't wait to audition in front of everyone." Choa giggled. 

 Suddenly, Raven entered the room. She collapsed onto the bed and stuffed her face into one of the pillows. "Raven, how was your date?" Apple teased playfully. "Come on, Raven. Tell us!" Choa grinned. Raven smiled and began to laugh. "Well, we arrived at the movies, but we were already late by ten minutes. Then we had to legit battle the ticket lady at the front desk to let us in, but as we were walking, we spotted a mother who was crying because she said her child had gone missing. Later, we found out that the child was just at the lobby eating the large bucket of popcorn by himself. Then, when we finally arrived to our seats, the film was almost done and the credit's scene was coming on. Dexter decided that it would be best if we just go out already, so we left the cinema and headed to the park nearby. We settled down there and watched the stars. I think that's when I realized how much I really love Dexter." Raven blushed. "Aw, that's so romantic. That's like an imperfect date became a perfect one." Apple gushed. "Yeah, it kinda sounds like a teen romance novel. That's good for you, Raven." Choa smiled. "I guess... Thank you so much, Mew. You were the one to help me get ready, and you were also the one to set me up." Raven beamed at Choa. 

"Uh, I'm getting exhausted. How about we head to bed?" Apple yawned. "I completely agree," Raven and Choa said in sync. And with that, the three girls got ready to go to bed.
