we got out of school a little late today, i guess it was just because of how crowded the gates were. i was expecting to see henry before getting out actually. but he had fled with his bags quite quickly from class. as i finally got to the gates i saw my my dad and my brother waiting for me opposite the gate. my brother was sat eyes glued to his phone on a small blue bench. and my dad stood and waved me over as i quickly rushed to him exited to tell him about my first day.
"hey honey! how was it?" my dad spoke excitedly before leading us to wherever the car was. "it was better than i expected i guess, oh and i already have homework! great!" i said sarcastically to my father while getting into the car and greeting the driver. yes we had a driver. i always considered our family to be quite privileged, i mean we had our own staff and i was sent to a very good private school, and i was always great full for that because i knew how hard my father worked to get here.
coming all the way from a struggling father to a now head detective.
"don't worry about homework i mean i have the night off tonight since nothings come up at work so maybe i could help you out?" my father offered. "oh no it's actually partner work, im meeting my friend henry at his house to start on it" i said quite exited to be honest. "henry? is that a boys name?" my dad questioned being the kind of person he was. "ugh dad? of course it's a boys name, and it's for a project chill" i spoke while the driver chuckled. "fine fine i get it" my father said while getting out of the car at outside our new house.
before i knew it, it was 5oclock and i had just finished getting ready. i headed downstairs to ask my dad for a ride since it's my first day in new york and i don't think i know my way around just yet.
"hey dad do you by any chance know where no.8 on 63rd street is?" i asked whike packing up my history books. "that would be next door honey"
well that's convenient.
(sorry this is so short, all the good stuff is in the next few chapters i promise <3)
