For the past couple weeks Cassie has been throwing up, when she wakes up she has to puke, when something smells strong she has to puke and she's been having heavy mood swings, her period is three days late so she goes to the pharmacy for a pregnancy test, her and her husband, Reggie, don't use protection and they've never talked about kids so she doesn't know how he will react, she picks up a few things for dinner and heads back home, when she pulls into the driveway his car is there, she parks the car and gets the groceries and puts the test in her back pocket, she walks through the door and kicks off her shoes, she puts the grocery bags on the counter and feels Reggie's arms wrap around her waist and kiss her neck
"I missed you."
"I've been gone for fifteen minutes." She says laughing
"I still missed you."
"I missed you too." She replies and he helps her out the groceries up
"Alright, I'm gonna head over to Archie's house for the game." He says, he's going back over there to watch the football game, he gives her a long kiss and walks out the door, when he closes the door she goes to the bathroom to do the test, she sits on the ground with the test on the counter and sets her phone for five minutes, when it beeps she picks up the test
"Positive." She mumbles to herself, thoughts flood into her mind
'what if he doesn't want the baby? What if he forces me to get an abortion? What if he leaves me? What if he stays for the pregnancy, but backs out when the baby's born, I can't raise a child on my own, what am I going to do.' her mind keeps flooding with them, she slides back down the wall and cries, she doesn't want him to leave her, thirty minutes later she gets up and washes her face And walks out, it's about 5:30 right now, Reggie will be home in about thirty minutes, twenty seven minutes pass and she sees his head lights, he walks through the door and sits down next to her
"Reggie, we have to talk." He nods his head and she grabs his hand
"Reggie I'm pregnant." She says, he sits there shocked, this was unexpected, he thought she would say she wanted a divorce or she cheated, but this is way better
"Say something!" He pulls her to his lap and hugs her
"Oh this is the best news ever." He mumbles into her chest
"Your not mad?" She asks
"Mad? Why would I be mad I'm happy to start a family with you."
"Well, we never really talked about kids so I thought you didn't want one." She replies
"Oh honey, I'm sorry I gave you that idea."
"I love you." She says
"And I love you." He says back and kisses her
"It's definitely a boy." He says, she giggles
"How do you know?"
"Boys run in the family."
"Well girls run in my family, I mean, I got four sisters."
"And I got twelve boy cousins and three girl cousins, your point?"
"Ok, only time will tell." She says and kisses him again
"I'm so excited." He says
"Me too, I can't wait til it's born."
"Me either."
