Atlanta- What's the Difference Between Venison and Beef?

Around 6 p.m. I finally decide to leave Beroe's, Memphis also decided to leave. Beroe said that tonight she was going to try to Iris Message Jason, but it probably wouldn't work. We looked (and found) a crystal and a drachma, but she wanted to do it when her parents were home.

Since my backpack was light as air and my house is only ½ a mile away I decided to run there. I got home fairly quickly ( I am the goddess of foot races and speed), that is the one thing I am sure about. Since I became a goddess I realized I might not be able to handle the responsibilities and the pressure of being a goddess. I am the goddess of speed and foot races and I don't do a lot, yet I am still asked to set a good example. To who? is my question.

I went inside and sat down in the living room and turned on the T.V. I heard the only mom I have ever known, Artemis, come in. She sat down next to me on the couch, most of the time she looks like she is 13 years old, but when she is around me she changes her appearance so she looks thirty-ish. "Hey, how was your day?" she asked. She knew that ever since I became a goddess that I had been doubting myself, which had never happened before.

"It was okay." I answered " At school Memphis didn't blow anything up in Magic Class for once, lunch wasn't horrible, and in P.E. we played "jump the shot" the whole time which was fun, for only playing with two other people. Then I went over to Beroe's, while I was there we watched "The Lion King" ."

I decided that if I was going to ask Mom if she knew anything about the missing orbs this is the time to do it. " Also while I was there we were going to check on Jason, but we couldn't find Beroe's orb or her parents, then when Memphis went to go and get his, it was missing along with his parents." I said calmly like it was completely normal for six people to lose their orbs. This is the best way to get someone to fess up that they did something (*cough* Memphis. )

I saw my mom's face falter for a moment quickly covered up by her stating " Well that's weird, I can see Hebe, Icarus, Memphis, and possibly Beroe, but Hercules that doesn't seem like that would happen to him. He and Meg must be stressed as much as I am about these council meetings" I blinked taking in what she had said, then I started talking " Well I should probably check for mine then." I stated like nothing had happened. Mom smiled at and said in a voice that was almost too cheery " Well you can go do that and I will get started on supper, Deer meat burgers." I can confirm that this point in my life that I barely know what beef actually taste like, I have always had deer meat in its place. The time I had tasted beef was school lunch and maybe three times at Beroe's.

I got up, grabbed my backpack and went to my room. Once I got up stairs I pulled out my Iris-Phone and got on my group chat with Memphis and Beroe.

Me: Hey guys she acted like she didn't know anything.

Beroe: She might not I have two theories so far, neither one would involve her knowing.

Memphis: Is your orb still there?

I looked around my room, which I kept clean, ( I am slightly OCD) and saw that it wasn't where it should be.

Me: No :(

Memphis: go fig. :(

Beroe: Do you think they took them away because we were checking on Jason?

Me: That might be it. Did you guys try to IM Jason.

Beroe: It didn't work, there is a good chance that he wasn't near water. The other reason could be that someone doesn't want us to check on Jason.

Memphis: the second is really likely now.

I heard my mom telling me that dinner was done.

Me: Yeah. Goodnight guys my supper is done.

Memphis: Goodnight.

Beroe: Night.

I turned my phones screen off and went downstairs. As I went down the stairs I could hear my mom talking on the phone. Mom always said that I had a hunter's instinct, and in this moment it kicked in. I crept quietly down the stairs. and pressed my body flat against the wall outside the dining room.

I heard my mom's conversation. " She did come home asking about the orbs... Yeah, uh huh she doesn't know. I tried act like they all just misplaced them.

My mom does know about the orbs being taken.
